July Release Retrospective Hop

Hi Verve fans!  Welcome to our July Release Retrospective Hop!  The Divas and guests have planned a great little hop for you today featuring our recently released stamps and dies.  By now you should have had a chance to receive your new stamps and we thought it would be fun to put on a hop to give you even more ideas with them!  Sound like fun? I'm the first stop on the hop over on my blog, Poetic Artistry, but first I wanted to share this {sort of CAS} card I made with the Peaceful Medallions set and the large flower from Happy Place.  I started by stamping medallions on a piece of white cardstock in perfect plum and wisteria wonder.  Next I stamped the big medallion on another piece of white, cut with a circle die and matted with a scallop circle die cut in perfect plum.  Next I flipped the flower stamp from Happy Place over so I was stamping on the solid side and stamped it pale plum.  I then stamped over that with the right side of the stamp in Wisteria Wonder and hand cut to pop up over my medallion piece.  I stamped two of the smaller medallions in pale plum, then cut with a 1" circle punch and popped up on my card.  I finished with a sentiment from Be Blessed and then added some liquid pearls and amethyst rhinestone accents.  Simple, yet elegant.

July Spotlights Day 4 Blog Hop

2 Corinthians 12:9 Plain Jane

Here's a quick little card I created with the Happy Place set.  A little more of my crumb cake addition in action.  {grin}  I embossed the big flower in black on the crumb cake panel, then colored with Copic markers.  Next I took a strip of Peach Parfait card stock and stamped the sentiment in black, then stamped the same flower in Peach Parfait off the opposing edges.  The little border is cut with the Scalloped Trim Trio Die Set from Poppy Parade card stock and I added a little Walnut Stain distress ink to all the panels.  I finished off with a bit of glossy glaze, stardust stickles and a rhinestone for the flower centers.

Our spotlighted set today is Happy Place, illustrated by me.  Inspired by Chaitali's illustrations for this release, I set out to create a coordinating set with my own whimsical take on some of the Indian inspired designs I had just been introduced to.  The peacock wings from her set whispered to me that they wanted to be a butterfly, and who was I to tell them they couldn't? After all, everyone deserves a chance to fly.  So wings became butterflies and feathers became leaves and doodled flowers laughed and smiled and nestled into their Happy Place.

Happy Place is a whimsical little set of flowers, butterflies and happiness.  The stemmed flower images and the butterfly each have a coordinating die in the Happy Doodles Die Set (available separately). The sweet sentiments and whimsical images in this set make for easy encouraging cards. Happy Place will retail for $18 and includes 9 clear photopolymer stamps on a 4" x 8" acetate sheet.

The Happy Doodles Die Set is a set of 3 dies that coordinate with images in the Happy Place stamp set.  Each die leaves about a 1/16" border around it's coordinating stamped image and have alignment holes for easy stamp alighnment.  This die set will retail for $21.

And last, but not least, our plain jane for this release is 2 Corinthians 12:9.  Stamped image measures approximately 1-7/8" wide by 1.5" tall and will retail for $3.

I sneaked a little peek of this plain jane earlier this week on this card sample (see below) for the Mojo 353 sketch.  This week is contest week and Verve is sponsoring prizes, so be sure to play along for a chance to win!

Today's set is the second set in Chaitali's debut release!

Chaitali joined our design team in May and has been keeping super busy illustrating sets for you.  The behind-the-scenes process takes a while, but I'm so glad to finally be sharing some of her fantastic illustrations with you in stamp form.  Both yesterday's set, Moments Remembered and today's set, Peaceful Medallions, are Indian inspired designs that are unique, versatile, elegant, and a whole lot of wow.  Be sure to check out Chaitali's blog today for her own back story on this set.

Peaceful Medallions, is an elegant take on Rangoli folk art design.  With small and large ornate medallions that can be mixed and matched for countless options, these medallions are super versatile.  The two larger medallions are also perfect as frames for smaller sentiments.  And since the medallions coordinate with common sizes of circle punches and dies, this set has so many layering possibilities.  Peaceful Medallions will retail for $18 and includes 13 clear photopolymer stamps on a 4" x 8" acetate sheet.

I must admit to having a bit of a crafty crush here.  Kay uses white in the most delightful ways, adding surprising splashes of color and lots of layered die cuts all while keeping things looking elegant and effortless.  I know you're going to love the cards she's created with this release!

Sheri's layered style is always perfectly embellished and lusciously layered.   Whether it's cute and colorful creations or muted masculine cards, Sheri can do it all.  I've been following her for quite a while and even remember her participating in an Anni-VERVE-sary blog hop way back in our 2nd year! Her cards for this release are classy and elegant and I'm sure you'll be inspired!

Okay, now that you know the who... it's time for the what.  Today's set reveal is the debut of our first set from our new illustrator, Chaitali Narla.  

Chaitali's first release brings a bit of Indian inspiration to Verve and today's set, Moments Remembered, is an elegant take on Mehendi design.  With flowing imagery and meaningful sentiments, this set is versatile enough for weddings and other joyous occasions, yet understated enough for encouragement and sympathy cards as well.  And the stunning peacock image is fabulous paired with the included quotes by Gandhi and Pavese.  The set will retail for $18 and includes 8 clear photopolymer stamps on a 4" x 8" acetate sheet.
