June Project Parade-Day 2!

Hello, hello! Hope everyone's weekend is going wonderfully! Mine has gone by TOO FAST, as always:)
My project for this months Project Parade, It's a Guy Thing, is this layout I made of my sweet husband, Billy. He makes me happy every day of my life and I am still so amazed that I have this incredible man to share my life with. It's good to capture those thoughts and hold on to them for those days that don't go quite right. I
I used alot of fun Verve stamps for this layout. That's what's great about Verve, alot of the sets are really versatile and work well together!
The kraft paper with black dots and the saffron colored dp are from a digital paper pack from The Digi Chick, the paper is called "Our Story".
The "Best Husband Ever" stamp is from "Dad's Day". I stamped the sentiment in the oval frame and cut the frame out. It's mounted on dimensionals. I also stamped a sentiment from "Feeling Groovy" on the saffron colored panel. One of my favorite little sentiments ever! The "I'm so blessed" sentiment on the title is from "Because of You" and then I also used the hearts border from "Hearts on Fire" randomly around the edge of the layout. I'm not sure if you can see all the details good enough of this photo so I also took some close ups.

So, how would you like to play along with us? Do you have a special guy in your life (Dad, Husband, Grandpa, etc...) that you'd like to create a project for? This is the time to do it!

To play along, just make a project or card that fits your style and celebrates a man in your life. Verve Stamps are not required, but if you've got 'em we love to see 'em! Then just add a link to your creation to the Mr. Linky form in --->{THIS}<--- post before 8PM Mountain on Saturday, June 20. Two lucky participants will win a stamp set of their choice from the Verve Store. We've also hidden another $25 gift certificate somewhere along the parade for a random commenter. So if you like what you see, be sure and give a little shout out in the comments of each post! Have fun and good luck!

Shrinkin' It Up ATC Style

Oh! It's been so much fun seeing all the Verve Diva's shrink their "thang" down to 2.5"x3.5"!!!! I knew they could all rock the 4.5x5.25 sized cards like nobody's business, but who'd of thought they could do the same thing with something sooooooo small?

I have to be honest, I've done exactly 3 of these little guys in my short lifetime, this one being the 3rd! I've had an aversion to them because they're as much work as a standard sized card! I'm sure it will come as no surprise to you that just the thought of making inchies give me hives! But shhhhhh, I better watch what I say, cuz now that I've said the word inchies, Shannan is FOR SURE gonna make them our next challenge!!!! Hopefully she's too busy to be reading my post today....a girl can only hope, can't she...????.

Awwww, I'm just kiddin' with ya, I had lots of fun making my ATC for you today. It was really a simple layout using the flower from the Verve Feeling Groovy set, a sentiment from Seeing Stars, and the square underneath the flower is from Asian Flair. I stamped the flower twice, once with brown ink, and once with Tangerine Tango (my favorite new In Color by SU). I sponged around the edges of both flowers with Tangerine Tango (see, I told you I love it). I mounted one flower on top of the other, and then mounted the double flower on top of the square from Asian Flair. A simple straight stitch around the card finished it off.

Want to see what I did with my ATC after I was done with it? I added it to the front of an empty journal! The background paper was made using the flower from Feeling Groovy. I loved how it turned out!

Well, now that you've seen another Verve Diva rock an ATC, so it's time for you to do the same. Check out this post for more details on what you have to do to win $15 in Verve bucks. The contest is open until noon (Eastern time) on July 31st, so there's still time for you to shrink your "thang" ATC style!

Groovin' and another chance to win!

Welcome to the third and final day of the Verve Previews! Today we're showing you samples of Feeling Groovy, which will be available at the Verve Store on Wednesday, June 25th.

From Cyndi Bundy:
Cyndi was our sketch challenge winner last month, and she won the opportunity to be our honored guest for this release. This is one of my favorite cards she created...it totally cracked me up! Stay tuned to see all of her wonderful creations later this week!

From Amber Hight:

The sentiments in the new release “Feeling Groovy” are among my favorites released by Verve thus far! My husband will be deploying in the next week or two and this set is going to come in VERY handy for the next six months! The sentiment I chose for this card is one that I say to him often. We’ve only been married for four years (five in September!) so it’s not like we’ve been married long enough to say “if I had to choose again after all these years, I’d still choose you!”. The sentiment has a very different meaning to me. We’ve been separated for at least 3 months of every year for almost the whole seven years we’ve been together. This sentiment says to him that if I had known back when we got married how often we’d be apart, he’s still the one I’d choose. Okay, enough sappiness, I know you’d rather know what supplies I used to make this card, right?:)

Stamps: Feeling Groovy, Filigree Fantasy, Petals and Stems (Verve Visual)

Ink: More Mustard (SU!), Versafine Onyx Black

Paper: Papaya Puree Light and Papaya Puree Dark (Prism)

Accessories: So Saffron ribbon (SU!), Paper Piercer (SU!), Dimensionals (SU!), Star Dust Stickles (Ranger), Swiss Dots Cuttlebug Folder (Provocraft), Square Scallop Nestibilities (Spellbinders)

From Carole Burrage:
I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say
at least a couple hundred more times: Verve Visual has the BEST sentiments in stamping! I'm especially excited about the new 'Feeling Groovy' set -- so many great song lyrics in one nifty set. And the timing could not be more
perfect.

We just got back from Las Vegas, and my sweet husband arranged for us to see 'LOVE,' the Cirque du Soleil's tribute to The Beatles. The show was phenomenal, and being huge Beatles' fans ourselves made it even more magical. I wanted to tell him thank you,
and how much it meant to me that after 15 years of marriage, he still takes the time to think "Carole would really enjoy this..." and make special things happen. So I paired this adorable Elzybells UK image that had yet to see ink with the very fitting 'I want to hold your hand.' Wouldn't you agree that there are few things in life that are sweeter than holding the hand of someone you love?

From Charmaine Ikach:
Being a musical person, I LOVED the Feeling Groovy set when I first saw it. I honestly cannot use one of these sentiments without singing the song that the sentiment is from! LOL I thought one of these folded sock hop skirts would go perfectly with the "I Want To Hold Your Hand" sentiment. Who needs a card with a recorded song when the sentiment makes you sing it yourself? :)

From Jen del Muro:

I love the sentiments that Julee (creative genius that is Verve) comes up with for stamps. Often they are fun and quirky, other times, just perfect that that "just because" card. I paired the flowers from the Feeling Groovy set with the "With Love, From Me To You" sentiment. I like that this particular sentiment can be used on a card to a relative, a good friend, for sympathy or to your love.

How would you like to win this stamp set? Here's your chance! Leave a comment on this post by 10 pm MT (midnight ET) on June 24 with your answer to this question:

What song lyric would you like to have as a stamp?

Check back on Wednesday, June 25, when we'll announce the lucky winner and reveal all the new sets in full!
