Welcome to December's Diva Dare, Christyne here today sharing with you this month's dare entitled Favorite Things.  

So this month, we are daring you to share your favorite Verve creation(s) for this year OR create a new one with one of your favorite Verve products.

After much debate, I decided on two of my favorite Verve cards created this year. I chose two layered cards whose layering I really enjoy. They also both happen to contain pink, black, bling, and distressing...my favorite things!!  "Happy Birthday" was created in my favorite color palette and highlighted the beautiful stamps from Be Blessed using a bunch of layered Verve dies: Pointed Petals Die set, Sprightly Sprigs Die set, Banner Bundle Die set, Rounded Scallop Die, and the Vintage Oval Frame Die.

"With Love" features some different layered Verve action to highlight the separated sentiment from Verve's Chevron Love stamp set including the Wavy Hearts Die Set and the Flag It Die Set.

Vellum Visions - November Diva Dare

Welcome to November's Diva Dare!  Christyne here, bringing you some more inspiration for this month's Diva Dare: Vellum Visions!  Soft and classy...vellum always makes a big impression!  So, this month we are daring you to add some vellum to your card or project.

My card for you today, answering this awesome challenge, uses a soft palette with vellum mats.  I like using vellum mats when I want a more subtle contrast or border than traditional paper mats would provide.  I paired this dare with today's fresh VLV inspiration and sketch challenges.  These challenges inspired me to use the Tall Oaks stamp set to create a soft fall-themed card to pair with my vellum.  I also used the Autumn Elements ribbon collection and the Shine Bright sequin mix to embellish my card.

Welcome to October's Diva Dare!  Christyne here with my take on this month's dare, entitled Pink Power, in honor of October being breast cancer awareness month. 

 

For my card, I inked up the beautiful new butterfly from the new Pink Power stamp set.  This along with plenty of pink, ribbon from the Truly Madly Deeply ribbon collection, bling from the Shine Bright sequin mix and some antiquing and I arrived at this.  And for anyone looking for some sketch inspiration for their card, I used this week's Mojo Monday sketch.

Terrific Trios - September Diva Dare

This month's dare is entitled Terrific Trios.  Back to school time usually means life is a 3 ring circus, so this month we're daring you to add 3 of something to your card or project. 

To keep things in line with the 3-ring circus spirit, I began my card with this visual in mind.  By the time I was done, I had put 5 or maybe even 6, depending on how literal you are, trio elements on my card.  Can you find them all?  For the theme of my card, I reached for the new Cupcakes set since the cupcake images are so cute and I haven't had the chance to show off this fabulous sentiment yet.  I hope you enjoyed my take on this month's dare and I can't wait to see how everyone else interprets this terrific theme!

Celebrate Good Times - August Diva Dare

This month's dare is entitled Celebrate Good Times.     
Verve is turning 7 this month and we’d love to see your celebration cards.  Think wedding, birthday, anniversary… anything that brings the confetti out!

For my celebration card, I decided to go with a versatile, classic theme: black and white!  I used the Moments Remembered and Peaceful Medallions stamps sets from the recent July release. Since this was a celebration card, I pulled out all the bling: rhinestones, Shine Bright sequins, and glitter!!  Combined with some rich ribbon and this week's Mojo Monday sketch (MOJO358), I arrived at this elegant, yet shabby, card.

Inside Out - July Diva Dare

This month we're daring you to create a stamped card and continue the design on the inside for a special surprise for the recipient.  Simply carry over some portion of the card front design on to the inside of your card. 

Here is my card, beginning with the outside:

I took this opportunity to ink up the beautiful new butterfly in the Happy Place set and cut it out using the new Happy Doodles Die Set.  While the outside is pretty simple, using this week's Mojo Monday sketch (MOJO354) as an inspiration, I carried some of the design elements along to the inside of the card.  For my sentiment, I inked up the beautiful Where Flowers Bloom PJ since is coordinated well with my "Smile" from the Happy Place set on the outside.  Here is the inside of the card:

A Man's World 

This month we're daring you to create a stamped card or project with a masculine theme. 

For my masculine themed card, I decided to pull out the new Wonderful Marvelous set and play with some more word combinations.  I went a bit crazy adding pennants, banners and such, but it's a Birthday card so I could leave it feeling drab!  In line with this banner theme, I dusted off the Pennant Trim die and embellished it with some twine to satisfy the horizontal element of this week's Mojo Monday sketch (#350).  Some light distressing with a little ink and it's all ready for an upcoming masculine birthday!

May 2014 Diva Dare - Day 5

Good Morning! Christyne here welcoming you to Day 5 of this month's Diva Dare entitled "Petals and Wings". 

What we're daring you to do this month is create a card with both a flower and a butterfly on it. 

Flowers and butterflies are two of my favorite card elements and there are so many Verve selections to choose from that it was difficult to find a place to begin with this challenge.  I ultimately chose the refreshed Petals and Wings set as the lines are soft and they really gave me an "early spring" vibe.  I paired the beautiful images from this set  and the coordinating Petals and Wings Dies with this week's Mojo Monday sketch (#344), incorporating a few other unique elements including the Die Sidekicks stamps set, Sweet Scalloped Tag Die, the Flag It Die Set, the Rounded Frame Scallop Die and the Shine Bright Sequins Mix.  I hope you are all feelin' some spring in your local weather lately, as it is certainly welcome in my neck of the woods!!

"Little Things" - April Diva Dare

Welcome to April's Diva Dare!  Christyne here and today I'm bringing you a little inspiration for this month's challenge! In honor of Spring's arrival (in some parts of North America anyway!), this month's Dare is entitled "Little Things".    The challenge is to create a baby or kid themed card, how fun!  

To answer this month's Diva Dare, I just had to pull out my favorite Emery stamp!  I just love him done up in all pastels, so I went super sweetly-themed for my card.  I combined many of my favorite Verve elements with the To the Moon stamp set, including the Banner Bundle die set, the Scalloped Trim Trio die, and the Pastel Sequins mix.  These elements were just perfect with this week's Mojo Monday sketch (#341) so I couldn't resist pairing the two.

"Do The Polka", March Diva Dare

Hello Verve Fans!! Christyne here bringing you some inspiration for Day 8 of the March challenge, "Do The Polka".  

 
What we're daring you to do this month is to use polka dots somewhere on your card. Whether you choose to strut your polka dot stamps, paper, ribbon or all of the above, we want to see you do the polka! 

 To answer this month's dare, I went a little polka-wild.  I found a bunch of polka dot papers and paired them with Verve's new Better Together stamp sent since it has that awesome dot background stamp and chevron accents.  I combined all of my dots with this week's Mojo Monday sketch (#337), using the Banner Bundle die set to cut out the main panel.  I accented this panel with some DP stars cut with the Starry Die.  Because all of these polka dots just weren't enough for this card, I added a big pop of ribbon from the Red, White, and Beautiful Ribbon Collection.  There you have it...polka-crazy!!
