ATC Challenge

Believe it or not, this is the FIRST time I've ever made an Artist Trading Card! Crazy, huh? When Shannan chose this for a challenge, I was a little nervous. I had no idea what to do, so I started with a little piece of white cardstock that I scored a grid on with my Scor-Pal, but never used. Next came the tiny scalloped border. From there, I just colored some flowers from Thankful Blossoms to match, added ribbon for stems and rhinestone brads for centers. Before I knew it, all my "little bits" made up an ATC! So, if you're as nervous as I was about this challenge, try to think small. . .a little bit here, a little bit there. It worked for me!

Two Set Previews and a Chance to Win!

It's Day 2 of our peeks at the new Verve sets (coming June 25), and today we are featuring two fabulous sentiment sets: Here for You and All About You.

From Jackie Pedro:

After seeing Jackie's projects for a few Verve contests, we had to ask her to be our guest this month! Her clean, simple style and attention to detail makes us say WOW every time. Jackie has used one of the six sentiments from Here for You. Thanks for joining us this month, Jackie! (Tune in tomorrow for a preview from the winner of last month's Sketch Challenge, Cyndi Bundy!)

From Laura Fredrickson:

I believe that the right words at the right time can really make a difference in someone's life, so when I saw the set Here for You, I decided to make an uplifting card that would brighten the day of the recipient. I used Julee's Mojo Madness #42 sketch since it was perfect for keeping the focus on the words and chose some designer paper from MAMBI that worked well with the sketch. I added a layered flower from Fancy Florals and a few gems to finish it off. "All things are Possible" is the perfect sentiment for someone in need of a little encouragement to move forward with their life.

From Amy Westerman:

Verve has the best sentiment stamps in town and the new All About You set is no exception. Letting that special someone in your life know how special they are to you is easy with this fabulous set of 5 amazing sentiments. Each one is more inspiring than the next! I wanted to create a romantic card to let my hubby know just how important he is to me, so I combined one of the sentiments from All About You with an ornate heart stamp that I embossed with silver embossing powder. The designer paper from SEI pretty much stands on it own because it’s so bold, so adding a simple, heart-touching Verve sentiment was all this card needed to be complete.

From Amy Sheffer:

When I saw the sentiments in the new All About You set, I kept thinking how perfect they all are for little notes of appreciation you might tuck into a spouse's packed lunch, or slip into the suitcase of a loved one who's traveling, or even leave behind on a pillow if you're the one traveling. I created this mini lunch box tin and card ensemble with my sweet mom in mind, who, if you can believe, has been packing my dad's lunch almost every workday for 45 years now!! The five notes are slightly larger than ATCs (Artist Trading Cards), and, like ATCs, they are card fronts only. That leaves plenty of room in the tin for a half-dozen or so additional "lunch notes." And just wait until you see how well tomorrow's set works with this same theme - you'll see right away why I saved room for lots more cards!

How would you like to win this pair of awesome stamp sets? Here's your chance! Leave a comment on this post by 10 pm MT (midnight ET) on June 24 with your answer to this question:

Are you a morning bird or a night owl?

Check back on Wednesday, June 25, when we'll announce the lucky winner and reveal all the new sets in full!
