October Project Parade - Day 5

Welcome to day five of the October Project Parade. I hope you're finding lots of inspiration to do some embossing of your own, whether it be wet (heat) or dry embosssing. Today I have a heat embossing example for you. I wanted to used some of the great Verve stamps as embossed silhouettes on patterned paper. So I settled on Cupcake Affair in silver embossing. I found it easiest to match up the top and bottoms of the cupcakes by stamping all of bottoms in Versamark, embossing, then repeating with the cupcake tops.

The sentiment, on layered Cuttlebug flower dies, is from Thoughtful Florals.

Project Parade - Day 10

Hello Verve friends, isn't this month's inspiration photo just divine? I was inspired all right ... inspired to hop in the car and head to my coffee shop. If you've been following our project parade from the beginning, dare I ask how many coffee shop runs you've made in the last two weeks?!

I knew right away I wanted to use the cupcakes from Cupcake Affair - they're so perfect for this pink and brown challenge! I chose to work with Chocolate Chip as my dominant color - dark and strong, just the way I like my coffee. Fancy drinks, not to mention fancy cupcakes, call for a fancy background, and the background strip from Artful Elegance was perfect!

Bliss Comes With a Warning Label for Verve's August Project Parade

Just FYI...I am officially blaming this month's Verve Project Parade for the last five pounds I've gained. I'm not saying I even had a Bellaccino Bliss as pictured below in Jen's post (the inspiration picture for the challenge). In fact, they don't even sell Bellaccino Bliss (monsters) here in Texas, but as Martha Stewart would say, 'It's a good thing', or else five pounds would be the least of my worries as we'd be talking ten or twelve pounds and a tummy tuck, and I'd be having to stamp faster to burn more calories. However, I think just looking at them surely caused some serious cravings, and chocolate was definitely at my desk when I made this card (and somehow was gone by the time I finished it...the card, I mean). But now that MY chocolate is no longer a distraction, I can just give you fair warning that playing in this month's Project Parade is highly addictive and may cause your stamping chair to mysteriously shrink!!

Day 4: Cupcake Affair

So what do ya'll think so far? LOVE IT? Well, then it will be super hard to contain your enthusiasm for this next set I'm about to show off (it's me, Susan)! It's called Cupcake Affair--aren't we all having one with them these days? The release party is TONIGHT!!! More deets after I introduce you to some of our best friends...CUPCAKES!!!!

This first one comes from Laura and it's so pretty!
I think this set will be the most fun you can have with ink and chocolate! There are so many possibilities and every one just as fun as the next! I saw pink and blue and chocolate, and that's exactly where this card went. Add some chocolate icing, delicious sprinkles, a few flowers and pearls and a totally fun card is born!

Here is one from Shannan--so "vanlilla-ey!":
I can't even begin to tell you how excited I was to hear that Julee was creating a cupcake set. Not just ANY cupcake set...a VERVE cupcake set. Who knew cupcakes could be elegant? I made this one a little over the top with Liquid Appliqué colored to look like Vanilla Icing. Dontcha just want to lick it? In all seriousness, these stamps are so fun to play with, and who could resist that sentiment? Because we all know it's true...Cupcakes really DO make everything better.

Next up is the lovely Michelle:
When I first saw the Cupcake Affair set, I squealed with delight! This set is super cute. I love all the cupcake, frosting and decoration options this set offers. I knew right away I wanted to do something with bright colors, so I thumbed thru my DP scraps and found this really great scrap of My Mind's Eye Magnolia. The colors for the card came from that. I just received my new Argyle embossing folder, so I had to use that too! I sooooo love this sentiment -very true!!

And here's one from one of our guest designers--the fabulous Lindsey Botkin:
I knew immediatly when I saw this darling set that I HAD to make it sparkley! My boys favorite things are cupcakes and they LOOOVE vanilla. For the top I used my Heat and stick powder and dazzling diamonds glitter. (Both from Stampin' Up!) I popped it up on a pop up glue dot for extra dimension. Everything else was embossed with detail silver embossing powder. The card measures 4 1/2 x 4 1/2.
