Hey Verve fans! I'm just popping in to quickly announce our project parade winners!

Weren't the Diva post during our Something Old, Something New project parade so inspiring?  Every day they had me wanting to ditch work and go stamp with some of my beloved "older" sets!  And y'all did your part, too!  Such fabulous entries in this month's challenge!  I had so much fun taking a peek at them all and you found some great matches that I hadn't even thought of.  Here are a few of my fave combinations...

Jen C.AndreaKevaVickie

I loved Jen C's combination of Heart's Desire with Love Story.   And Andrea's combination of the circle frame from One Person and a sentiment from Dream Big was just beautiful.  And how adorable was Keva's mixture of Happy Hello and Love Monkey?  Too cute!  Oh, and how cool is Vickie's card with Great Friend and Kindred Spirits?

Okay, let's move this post along and get on with the winner's list!

Our random participant winner is...
Jen P. who made this lovely card using the flower from Great Friend and a sentiment from Circular Sayings.  Head on over to her blog to check out the pictures of her coordinating project, too!.

Congrats Jen! Email me at contests@vervestamps.com to claim your $30 gift certificate.

Our random comment winner is...
Ravengirl who commented on Laurie's post... "How very sweet! This darling treat box has brightened my, otherwise gray, Monday morning." She wins her choice of any Verve set.

August Release Project Parade ~ Day 14

Happy Tuesday, Verve fans!  It’s Mercy here with the final day of this month’s “Something Old, Something New” Project Parade.  Haven’t the Divas been knocking you out with their gorgeous creations days after day?  I took this theme as a personal challenge to not only combine both old and stamp sets, but to also use old and new patterned papers, cardstocks, embellishments, and techniques.  I hope you enjoy the end result as much as I enjoyed making it!

card_1457

With Christmas just around the corner, I wanted to take advantage of this month’s theme to create a card using the older sets “Star of Wonder” (sentiment) and “Holly Jolly Christmas” (holly accent) along with one of the newest releases “Fabulous You” (frame).  Julee was kind enough to send me an advanced copy of yesterday’s Mojo Monday #156 to use as a template for this seasonal delight…thanks so much, Julee!  I stitched the multiple strips of patterned paper, then distressed the edges of the completed panel.  The sentiment and frame were stamped onto the same White Cardstock panel, the the holly image was stamped onto a scrap piece of White Cardstock.  After the holly was colored, I cut it out and attached it to the sentiment panel using pop dots.  After adding some dry embossing, sponging, pearls, and TONS of extra pop dots the card was complete!

That’s it for me today!  Thanks for stopping by, and be sure to enter your favorite “old” and “new” project for a chance to win some wonderful prizes!  Here’s how to enter:

1. Play along with us and link up your new SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW creation (posted August 25th or later) to the linky widget on the DAY 1 PARADE POST before midnight on Wednesday, September 15th. One lucky stamper will win a $30.00 gift certificate to the Verve Store.

2. For another chance to win, be sure to give the Divas a little shout-out in the comments section as we parade our SOMETHING OLD, SOMETHING NEW creations. One lucky commenter during the course of the parade will win the Verve stamp set of their choosing!

GOOD LUCK & HAPPY STAMPING!!!

August Release Project Parade - Day 13!

Hi there!  Laurie here and I'm excited to share with you my project for this month's Project Parade!  The theme is "Something Old, Something New", so I took this opportunity to use one of my all time favorite Verve sets - Harvest Blessings (which just happens to be the Set of the Month right now and is currently 40% off)!

I created a little box holder to hold some mixed nuts - a perfect Fall treat!  Because Autumn in my favorite season, I just love to celebrate it (which includes giving treats to my friends :-)!

After stamping and coloring the wreath (from the Harvest Blessings set), I used the new Happy Hello set to create the inside border and sentiment!  A few embellishments, some Stickles, and ribbon later...my project was finished!

August Release Project Parade-Day13

Happy Friday peeps, it is Teresa and I am thrilled to be taking you into the weekend with my version of the project parade of Something Old, Something New. Once again, the divas never cease to amaze me with their talent and ideas. Julee and all the divas...you are the best! I am one of those who luvs my Verve no matter if it is new or old, I do find myself reaching for it all the time. Julee's flowers are always divine, but next to those my favorite stamps are the scripture stamps. I knew I wanted to incorporate one of those into my project. For my project I took a 4x6 recycled paper notebook that I picked up a Target and Verve'd it up a bit. It is perfect, it has kraft on the inside covers and recycled white lined pages. I always like to make a matching card...lol..that is just what I do. Here is a picture of the book, I used Dream Big and Filigree Fantasy. I used one of the Maya Road kraft envelopes on the front and dressed it up a bit to make this sweet little notebook with a pocket on the front.

This is a close up of the little notebook I layered the flowers, added a buttons with twine, and of course some bling.

This is a close up the card, I used one of the fabulous sketches from the last release week challenges. I added faux ribbon with the fun polka dotted chocolate paper. I used the 1 Peter5:7 stamp.
Whether old or new I hope you will play along, the details follow. I cannot wait to see what you create!

August Release Project Parade ~ Day 12!!!

Happy Thursday!!! Today is my day, Lynda, to show you my project for Verve's August stamp release. I have decided that I don't like going toward the end of the parade! OH MY GOSH, seeing all the AMAZING project's the Diva's have made so far has put the pressure on to come up with something fantastic and I don't do well under pressure!!! LOLOL!!!

As you probably know by now, the theme this month is "Something Old, Something New". I had a hard time deciding WHICH awesome Verve sets to use!! When cleaning my craft room the other day, I ran across a scrap of old Cosmo Cricket holiday paper and knew I wanted to use that piece on my card. My layout STARTED using this week's Mojo Monday sketch but as I went along.....it really didn't look like the sketch at all!!! LOLOL!!!

The base of this card is Crumb Cake with a layer of Vintage Cream and finally, the darling Cosmo DP on top and Crumb Cake CS on the bottom. The bottom panel was embossed with my Quickutz diamond embossing folder and sponged with Antique Linen ink.

The sentiment, stamped using Vintage Cream, and the tree, stamped using Crumb Cake ink and Artichoke marker, are both from the O Christmas Tree set. The beautiful doves from the BRAND NEW Love Story set were stamped using Vintage Cream and heat embossed using off white embossing powder. The image was then cut out using my Spellbinders Labels Nine, sponge with Antique Linen ink and then matted the image with a Vintage Cream decorative mat.

The tree was accented with white Sparkly Fluff using my Quickie glue pen. Here is a closer look~
The final step was to add the pearl Zva flourishes.

Are you ready to play along? Here's all the details about how you can and win some VERVE:

August Release Project Parade--Day 11

Hi there ladies!! It's Amber here! Are you BLOWN AWAY by the projects so far on this project parade?? I sure am! I am always SO inspired by my team mates, each and every one of them are fabulous and each have a style SO unique that you could see them all in an anonymous gallery and KNOW what card belongs to who, I LOVE that! I am SO lucky to be on this team with these girls. And I'll never have a nicer, sweeter, more lovely "boss" than Julee! And behind every successful woman is a sweet, supporting man right? So of course we love Mark too! Love them all:)

Okay, I'm gushy today, I don't know why, but I guess it's better than being in a BAD mood, lol!

This month, our theme is Something OLD and Something NEW! We've all heard this little rhyme for weddings, but we wanted to pair some OLD favorites with some NEW favorites!

I am LOVING this color combination, I've been using alot of this green lately and I'm not slowing down anytime soon, ha!
I used the super fabulous "Fabulous You" set just released! I just adore the fonts in this set, it's a fun mixture of formal and whimsy. What's not to love?
I also used the fun flourishy circle from Thankful Accents and stamped the flowers from Because of You. I stamped these flowers in Kiwi Kiss and I love how it makes the sentiment pop off the card.
Here's a fun detail shot of some awesome pearl string I found in my craft store on base! It comes in a really long length and I was able to just cut pieces to fit around the square.
And since I'm a sucker for ribbons, bows, flowers, and pearls, here is another fun detail shot:)

Are you ready to play with us? I hope so! There is a HUGE prize in it for you if you do!

The Deets:

August Release Project Parade: Day 10

Hi everyone it's Michelle!  I'm here to share my Something Old, Something New card.  I actually need some wedding cards, so this was a perfectly named challenge for me!  I love the idea of showcasing some of the older sets this month -like most of you, my older sets are sadly neglected.

The 2 sets I used are Love's Flower (released in Jan 2010) and the current release set, Love Story.  I stamped the branch blossom image from Love's Flower with Crumb Cake ink down the left side of the card front and lightly colored them in with the R11 ( Pale Cherry Pink) copic marker.  I then stamped the tiny flower with Pink Pirouette ink and added a touch of white gel pen to the centers.  The flourish heart is also stamped with Crumb Cake ink and colored in with copic markers.

The pearl flourish is from Zva Creative.  I used my favorite trick and cut off the last pearl of the flourish and replaced it with a colored one!

Are you ready to play along?  Here's all the details about how you can and win some VERVE:

August Release Project Parade--Day 9

Well hi there friends, and welcome back this week to the Verve Project Parade for August. It's me, Susan! As a reminder, the theme this month is "Something Old, Something New". It's been forever since I've been to a wedding, so I wasn't inspired to go that direction. So I considered that since the idea of the theme was to use something old (older Verve stamps) along with something new (newer Verve stamps), just me being the "something old" wouldn't work. Teehee!

One of my very first favorites from Verve was Petals and Stems. I decided to pair it up with the Happy Hello set that was just released in August. I even grabbed something old and used something new from my stash--this little library card along with several new steel dies I've accumulated recently! I picked a few of these library cards up two years ago at the teacher store here near my house (it's authentic!).

I love how the flowers from Petals and Stems layer so cutely on top of the little felt flowers. I made the envelope myself and it really does open, but I haven't got anything inside it (yet). The library card is all sparkly, too, since I sprayed it with Marshmallow Glimmer Mist. It's a very happy little card and I can't wait to make another one like it!

We hope you get to whip up something happy and play along with us. Come on, it'll keep you young!! Here's all the details about how to try and win some VERVE!

August Release Project Parade: Day 8

Hi Verve fans, it's Amy here today with Day 8 of our current Something Old, Something New Project Parade. Our challenge this month is to use a previously released Verve stamp set with one of the new sets that was just released on August 20th. Julee's designs are far too timeless to ever get "old," but papercrafting trends do come and go, and new products and tools are coming out all the time, so this theme is giving the Divas (and you!) a fun chance to work some fresh magic on all those glorious previously released sets. Hope you'll join in the fun!

One of the things I know we all love about Verve is the fantastic assortment of sentiments. It's often the tiny sentiments that I'm drawn to the most - they're so perfect for adding sweet little whispers of affirmation to your projects. One of my favorites is "You put a song in my heart," from the September 2009 set Swan Song. I thought it would pair perfectly with the gorgeous heart image from the new Love Story. Once I got started looking through my Verve stash, I couldn't stop with just one "old" set, so I also added a flower from One Person, along with two subtle clear-embossed borders using a stamp from Grateful Elegance.

I can't wait to give this to my husband when we celebrate our seventeenth anniversary later this Fall!

Ready to mix up your old and new and play along? If you don't have the newest Verve sets - no worries, just mix an older set from your stash with a "new to you" stamp set and join the fun!

August Release Project Parade ~ Day 7

Hi there!  It's Jackie here! I hope you're enjoying this month's Project Parade!  I am (again) totally blown away by the Diva's projects so far!  When I saw the theme for this month's parade, Something Old Something New, the "Old" (hate to call any of my Verve stamps Old) set I immediately knew I wanted to use was the first set I purchased from Verve, Fancy Florals.  I paired it with one of Verve's newest releases, Dream Big!  A match made in heaven!!  LOL!

I recently celebrated my birthday and was treated to a pedicure and lunch by one of my closest friends and was in need of a thank you card!  I started with Sweet Sunday Sketch #83 and reached for the new Cosmo Cricket Togetherness DP and got to work.  I stamped the two different outline flowers from Fancy Florals in Memento Tuxedo Black onto three different patterns.  I cut them out and attached them to the card with foam tape.  Some adhesive pearls finish them off nicely.  The sentiment and leaves are from Dream Big.  The leaves were stamped in Wild Wasabi ink and cut out.  Some machine stitching finishes it off!

Detail shot of the flowers.......

I hope I've inspired you to play along!!!  Here are the details:

We hope you'll play along! We LOVE to see your creations!

August Release Project Parade: Day 6

Hello friends!! Tosh here, and I'm so excited to share my project with you today. One of my favorite things about Verve images is that they're so versatile. So when I found out the theme this release was going to be "Something Old, Something New", I was thrilled. Wedding ideas immediately come to mind, but you don't have to take that direction. This is a challenge, for anyone who would like to play along, to use a previously released Verve stamp set with one of the new sets that was just released this August 20th. (If you don't have the newest Verve sets - no worries, just mix an older set from your stash with a "new to you" stamp set and join the fun!)

I decided to make a Christmas gift set and mix 3 different sets: Fabulous You (August 2010 Release), Christmas in the Air (October 2009 Release), and Bountiful Backgrounds (August 2009 Release)

First of all, I used this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch for the card. I stamped the Fabulous You Frame onto Silver cs with Versamark and embossed it with Detail Black ep. All the snowflakes from Christmas in the Air were embossed also and have a microfine glitter added to them. Because the glitter is so fine, it's hard to capture with the camera. Believe me, I tried every angle possible. It just wasn't happening. *sigh* Anyway, the background was created wth the striped/dot image combo from the Bountiful Backgrounds set. Because Julee's images are clear, it's quite easy to line the stripes up for a perfectly striped bg.

I added some Frosted Sheer Shimmer Spritz (Tsukineko) to the blue card stock to keep the sparkly theme going throughout.

Now for the box. I used all three sets on here as well, along with adding Glittery Spellbinders Snowflakes dies to the top. For the sentiment, I just inked up the words "I believe" from the sentiment "I believe in you".

Here's a view from the top:

That sums up my project for today. I hope I've helped inspire you to mix it up a bit. I know I've been inspired by the previous projects by the Divas. I'm always amazed to see where their creativity takes them. I'd love to see where it takes you too. Haul out those older images, and show us your combination.

There's also a chance to win some Verve stamps - check out how you can score some:

We hope you'll play along! We LOVE to see your creations!
