January Diva Dare - Day 8

Hello Verve lovelies! Welcome to Day 8 of Verve's fabulous Diva Dare celebration. It's Andrea here and I have to tell you that I've been marvelling over the last 7 days of Diva goodness! Now it's time for me to show you some of mine. First things first, here are the details:

We dare you to make a card, project, layout, or whatever fits your stamping style using this month's theme - Baby Love!  The baby part could be for a new little someone...or a special someone!  Be sure to look for the details on how you can win some new Verve goodies at the end of this post!

I answered the challenge by making this adorable Valentine slipper to which I've added some truffles. Check it out:

Here's a view of the top:

And here's a close up of the sentiment panel:

I was inspired by this photo here from Bayberry Cove. To make this treat filled slipper I took a piece of 12" X 12" card stock and folded it in half. I then drew a fairly large half of a heart on one side and cut it out. When I opened it, I had a symmetrical design. I then rolled the side edges and the bottom back and glued them down. I cut a half oval with some scalloped scissors (remember those at the bottom of one of your craft drawers?) and attached that to the inside top part of the heart so that it was extending out. I adhered some pearls & lace to the top part and upper edge, then glued lace around the felt heart bearing the sentiment. I added some red paper-fetti and some truffles inside and it's ready to roll! I'm going to give this to my daughter as she absolutely adores shoes and I know that she'll pull the candy out and keep the slipper.  I can then re-gift the candy to my husband who never passes up an opportunity for chocolate! (In fact, he actually tried to steal the chocolate out of my project before I photographed it!)

Here's how YOU can win some shiny new Verve!

1. Play along with us and link up your new Baby Love creation (posted January 14th or later) to the linky widget on the DAY ONE Diva Dare post before midnight MST on January 29th. One lucky stamper will win a $30.00 gift certificate to the Verve Store. Verve Stamps are not required, but if you've got 'em we would  LOVE to see ‘em!

2. For another chance to win, be sure to give the Divas a little shout-out in the comments section as we share our Baby Love creations. One lucky commenter will win the Verve stamp set of his or her choosing!  Winners will be announced on Monday, January 31st on the Verve blog.

So go ahead and show us your Baby Love creations...we DARE you!
