Sneak Preview - Hearts on Fire

We have yet another Verve preview today! Are you as excited as I am? This stunning set of THIRTEEN stamps...that's right, THIRTEEN...is called Hearts on Fire and will be available following Friday night's release party.

Here's my sample using both the big, gorgeous, scrolly heart (technical terms, LOL), as well as one of the patterned designs. You're going to love all of the choices given to you for patterns and sizes in this set.

From design Diva Jackie Pedro:

When I first saw the new Hearts on Fire set I was instantly drawn to the heart with the scrolls image. I knew that would be the first stamp to see ink! LOL! I just love the elegance of this set. And don't think you are limited to just Valentine's Day! Hearts are timeless and can be used on many projects such as wedding, love or just because! It also pairs beautifully with some of the other Verve sets such as Grateful Elegance and Artful Elegance. I know I will get so much use out of this set. It's possibilities are endless! For my card I stamped the main image heart/scroll in Chocolate Chip ink and then stamped another of the heart images from the set in Riding Hood Red ink, cut it out and popped it up on a dimensional. To dress it up a bit I added some Chocolate adhesive pearls to a few of the scrolls and then to the corners of the main image. The embossed swirls on the Blush cardstock was done with the Swirl embossing folder from ProvoCraft, and I think it finished off the card perfectly.

From design Diva Jen del Muro:

Valentine's Day is one of the most fun holidays to make treat holders for...well, in my opinion at least. To make this box a little more fun, I created a swinging heart window so that the recipient can peek into the box to see the contents. The ribbon at the top keeps the whole thing secure enough so that no chocolates can escape.

Box base dimensions and score marks:

11" x 6" piece of cardstock
Along the 11" side, score at 4", 5", 9" and 10"
Along the 6" side, score at 1"

Like what you see? Well, this Verve-alicious set could be coming home to you! Just leave us a comment with the answer to the following question (see below) by Friday January 9 at Noon (Mountain Time) and you could be the lucky winner. And for even more Verve-alicious party favors, be sure to check out tomorrow's sneaky peek here on the blog as well as the Lookin' For Love Release Party Challenge on our SCS Forum. Winners will be announced at our release party on Friday night (it starts at 8 PM EST in the Verve Forum on SCS--mark your calendar NOW)!

Here's your question that goes along with the "Looking For Love" theme: What was your best or worst date ever? Share which ever you'd like.

  1. My best date was December 16 1999, went for dinner with this cute guy who I first met a couple of months earlier when I was cutting his hair...Long story short, we fell in love (awww) got married in November 2005, had an awesome 6 week overseas honeymoon & had a beautiful baby boy just after Christmas 2007. So really, is the date over? Life is GOOD!

  2. My best date ever cam from my husband after we were married (I think that should count because I am a firm believer in continuing to date) Any way he planned a 3 suprise day trip to the beach--talked to my boss and asked for the time of work that was required, packed my suitcase, covered all my responsiblities, and picked me up from work and whisked me away from everything!! It was fabulous!!

  3. My best date ever was a blind date that my mother set me up on!! She told me she couldn't stand this guy but that he'd be perfect for me. I knew that night he was the man I was going to marry - and here we are....still....15 years later!!

  4. Best date was with my hubby. He told me to pack an overnight bag. He made arrangements for the kids to be cared for. He took me to a little town in Ohio where we browsed in cute shops, had an amazing dinner and stayed at a great bed and breakfast. Loved it! Love him!

  5. Very cute set! My worst date was with a guy I went to Elemenatary school that moved away. I saw him when I was a junior at the grocery store with my mom. Long story short, my mom pretty much set us up on a date. I didn't like him to begin with. We went to dinner and he was talking about how he told his friends at school he was "getting back together with his old girlfriend". We were never anything but friends! It was very weird and stalkerlike!

  8. My best date was a horse drawn carriage down a Christmas lit street when my my fiance (now husband) asked me to marry him.

  9. One of the worst was when I was an undergrad in college. I drove the guy and I to the movies in the winter. I scraped the ice/snow off the window, and he didn't even offer to help! No second date (more reasons, too).

  10. Well, my dating experiences were so very blah! I never really had a sweep you off your feet kind of date! But, I also never had the horrible date that so many people talk about. I guess this story will do! The first time my hubby took me backpacking, he made several mistakes. I had never ever been backpacking and he took me to a place where he had never been. I was packed heavy, we left too late and it got dark while we were hiking. I fell and cut my knew (I should have had stitches) and when we got to the camp site, it was occupied. The occupants were 3 big men in camoflage, toting weapons. My hubby (then bf) was scared to death, thinking their intentions were ill. It turned out okay. They were military and emt's and they patched up my knee and shared the camp with us!

  11. I was going to be spending valentines alone because my boyfriend was going to college three hours away. I picked up Taco John's for my romantic night alone and when I got back my roommate had let my boyfriend in. He drove all that way to see me and had to leave at like 3 in the morning to be back for classes. Yep, he was a keeper, I married him :)

  12. Gorgeous cards Ladies.I am loving htis set.

My worst date would have to be when I was a teenager and my older sister invited me to spend vacation with them at their friends place.
They had 2 cute sons and they set me up with a blind date with a friend of the sons.
Things didn't go well,my first and last blind date, lol.

  13. I don't really remember a "worst" date but I do remember my first date with my now husband! I would call it a "best" date because we had been friends for a couple of years and then decided to take the next step and here we are- married for 16 years!!

  14. My best date was with my then boyfriend, now husband when I was 17. We had been dating for 6 months and he finally kissed me. ohhhhh, I was in the stars over it. I think waiting for that first kiss made it and all his kisses there after all that much more special.

I can't say as I ever had a positively horrible date but I really enjoyed all the dates I used to go on with my then boyfriend (now hubby). Of course, I have to say that the best date was when he cooked me a really romantic dinner and asked me to marry him. It was pretty funny because he put my ring in the bottom of the crystal water glass but because they were patterned I couldn't see it. To top it off, I was much more interested in the wine he poured for me. So at the end of the meal I still hadn't drank any water. Long story short he ended up having to drink all of his water and mine so I would see what was at the bottom... it was pretty cute. Thanks for the chance to win another darling set!!

  16. Best date was the date my DH proposed to me. We had dinner at a very high end restaurant overlooking the river, wonderful food and conversation and he proposed just before dessert. Can't ask for more than that out of a date!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Worst date EVER! A co-worker set me up on a blind date with this guy. She kept telling me how nice he was and I was somewhat intrigued. Well, the day of our date she tells me at work that his nickname is "Bart". "why? " I ask as anyone would. She tells me it's because he looks like BART SIMPSON. Lo' and behold when he picks me up that night there's Bart Simpson in human form. He was very nice but there was no way I was letting "Bart" kiss me goodnight. I could not get that out of my head. Call me shallow but that's ok. What was my friend THINKING?!
Now my best date was when this really cute guy I was dating planned a surprise date. We went for a really long walk through the beautiful park and then we were supposed to go get ice cream. But, we never made the ice cream shop because he surprised me with a big engagement ring! Proposed to me, knee bended and all under a big beautiful tree next to the pond of geese. I'll never forget:) BTW, he would be my husband now LOL

  18. OMW- I {heart} this set- I NEED it!!! My worst date was probably my senior prom when my date ended up with my friend who was one of the girls I was sharing our limo with :(.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Worst date ever was a double date with my date's cousin and friend. The cousin and friend chose to go to a Barbra Streisand movie and we all found out my date can't stand Barbra Streisand.

  20. Best date was probably when my now-husband took me to Banff for a weekend. I'd lived within a few hours to a day's drive from the mountains throughout my life and had still never been to see them...it was amazing!

  21. My best date was with my a man who is my husband now. He carried me to the car and just made it creative the whole night. I will never forget it. Thanks for the question and the contest.

  22. you can never have too many hearts - i can't wait to see the whole set!

My best date was with my DH. We met at a party, went on our first date a few days later, and both knew by the end of the night that we would get married! We celebrate our 10th anniversary later this year!

  23. Oh, wow, the scrolly heart is so lovely!

Let's see, the best date ever was with my DH a little more over a year after our daughter was born. We left her asleep at my mothers and just went out for a concert, dinner and a walk - alone for the first time in over a year :)

  24. Best Date EVER! Dec. 30, 2008
I hinted for months before Christmas I wanted a new ring, something with lots of BLING! But Christmas came and went and nothing bling-y. So on our anniversary hubs takes me for a drive and we end up at my fav. Italian rest. (Johnny Carino's) in Sherman, TX.
We order and wait for our dinner and while we wait hubs slips a little copper colored box out of his pocket and slides it across the table to me. He says, "These are just the bookends." I thought earrings! But when I opened up the box there were 2 of the most beautiful diamond anniversary bands I'd ever seen. "The other part," he proceeds to tell me, "will be in next week. You have such small fingers it had to be special ordered for a size 5 1/2." I was beyond the moon!
So as we sit holding hands the Maitre 'D passes us and comments how sweet it is to see a couple holding hands. Hubs tells her it's our 30 anniversary and I chime in showing her my rings, "Yeah and HE went to Jared." She laughed and said, "Nice bling." And I chimed again, "NO HE REALLY DID GO TO JARED." To which she announced to the restaurant, "Hey, HE went to Jared", while pointing at my hubs. Laughter and applause insued!
    HAHAHAHAHA
    my best date EVER!!!

  26. LOL my worst date ever was when I was 23- the guy I went out with got soooo drunk, he threw up all over the place and I ended up have to sit up with him all night to make sure he didn't die....ew it was brutal!!!

  30. I'm a big fan of the scrolly heart as well! Awesome!

Hmm.... Not sure I'm ready to share any bad date stories -- I prefer to block them out! :)I'm the planner in our family, though, so I cherish all the memories of times my husband put together something special for me...

Thanks for the walk down memory lane! :)

  31. The best date ever was a Saturday afternoon picnic at the lake with KFC for lunch and chocolate covered strawberries with a shiny engagement ring tucked into the box for dessert!!!!

  32. Haha--I've had a few worst dates ever--how about the one with the guy who said he was way younger than he actually was and acted--and had a comb over!!!!!!! Best date ever--the first one with my partner--we hit it off so well, it was like we knew each other for years.

  33. LOVE these cards and Jen's box!! WOWSA!!
My best date...let's see...I think it was when DH took me to see Bon Jovi after I had our daughter...that was all I wanted and he got me front row tickets!! Oh! The love!

  34. Those cards are beautiful - I need that set! I am donating some Valentine cards for a local animal rescue group to sell at their Valentine's Day dinner and these would be perfect. My best date ever was with my first date with hubby on New Years Day 1996 - I knew he was the one. It was a wonderful evening even though I got blasted with a water gun in a drive by (kids!) as we were walking downtown (it was warm in Florida so it was ok). We just laughed about it and went on - he still insists it was a water balloon, it's an ongoing joke between us.

  35. Love the stamps!

My best date was probably a very large banquet that I went to with now-my-husband! It was a huge formal banquet and I didn't realize how "big" it was going to be until I got there!!

  36. I had a lot of best dates with my hubby. It seemed that no matter what we did when we started dating back in college we would always end up sitting on the same bench behind the chapel on campus. We would stay up half the night talking - only took a couple weeks for us to decide we wanted to get married. Almost 18 years later I think we made the right choice! :)

  37. My worst date was in college. The beginning was fine, but then all of a sudden the guy said he was feeling sick and couldn't drive me home, luckily we were just a couple of streets from my apartment so I walked home

  38. It's hard to remember my dating years (LOL), but I suppose it would have to be when my then-future husband took me to see a Neil Diamond concert. I thought it was going to be hokey, but it was a great concert. What was even more special is that date turned the tides for us.

    ReplyDelete
  39. My best date would have to be when my husband proposed of course! It is a long story, but it started with a scavenger hunt (complete with a hand-drawn map) and ended with a hot-air balloon ride...and somewhere in the middle with a ring, a "yes", and a lot of happy tears!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Worst date EVER was in college with someone a friend suggested I meet. After dinner we were taking a walk and I made a joke about how thin he was. Then he started crying!!! And told me he couldn't continue on the date and he went home, leaving me standing on Newbury Street in Boston by myself with people staring.

I never heard from him again, obviously!

  41. A date???? I know this is sad but I can't honestly say I have ever been on what I would classify as a date.

So my answer to this question would be the best "date" I ever had happens every year at the end of June. My girlfriend and I have a standing date to go to Madison, WI. We spend the weekend shopping at the Farmers Market, hitting the 1/2 price book stores and laying on the beach next to the lake.

    ReplyDelete
  42. My best date was the day my husband asked me to marry him. We went hiking in Colorado, and just as we were overlooking some beautiful scenery, he dropped down on one knee and proposed. He's the best father and husband around!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Worst date is easier to decribe here. I was set up on a blind date by my aunt. This so called "nice guy" flirted with the waitress all night.

    ReplyDelete
  44. My best date was when my husband proposed. He had flowers, champagne and a beautiful ring. He got down on one knee and had a whole speech prepared... it was amazing... I cried. We have been married for 15 years now.

  45. I love all the hearts! I can't wait for the reveal! My best date ever, was one where my guy rented a sailboat for the evening so we could have dinner and watch the sunset right on the Pacific Ocean. Soooo romantic!

  46. My BEST date ever... meeting my husband!
It was a blind date that was amazing... 17 years later, we are still gong strong! Marilyn

  48. Best date, probably one the the first dates my now husband took me on once we started seriously dating. He took me to the Salish Lodge in Snoqualim, Washington. An amazing hotel that sits next to Snoqualim Falls.

    ReplyDelete
  49. This is a date that could have been labeled "worst" but since it was with my (now) hubby, it was one of the best...About two weeks after we first met, Valentine's Day landed on a Saturday. So he plans to take me to Cheesecake Factory early in the evening. I'm all ready to be picked up and he calls and says that the kitchen repair guy is taking longer than expected. An hour and a half later, we finally get going, so of course the wait at Cheesecake was about 3 hours. We tried a couple of other places with the same wait time until finally I said I knew a place that would not be crowded-the local bbq joint. Yup, there we were in our fancy clothes, the only two customers in there! :)

  50. Love what you've shared of this set! Gorgeous! My best date was probably the first date with my now DH. It was a simple walk in some woods across the road from where he lived, and it was really nothing "special" other than that I was with him! Awww! Here we are 30 years later and he's still special!

    ReplyDelete
  51. The new set looks awesome...great samples, Divas!!

My best date was when my DH (before we were married), took me as a surprise to my favorite beach, Montana de Oro for a lunch picnic...we had an amazing time just talking, looking out on the ocean, peeking into tide pools, and searching for shells. It was the perfect therapy for the-week-before-finals stress!

    ReplyDelete
  52. Why oh why can't today be Friday??? I don't think I can make it any longer! Haha! Anyway, I haven't had a lot of awful dates, just a couple where we ran into some bad luck! In fact, I think the worst was on my first date with my now hubby. We had actually known each other for quite some time but had never been on an official date. Thank goodness we were really comfortable with each other because we went to Famous Dave's (my fav!) and both of use ended up spilling our entire drinks at different times all over ourselves, each other, and everything else! Haha! We just laughed it off and got married anyway!

  53. I have had many wonderful dates but I wanted to share my funniest one. It was at the end of a date with the dreamiest guy in high school and we were in his car outside my aunt's house where I was spending the night. He leaned over to kiss me goodnight and there was this bang. I though it was the fireworks from the kiss, then I thought someone had hit his car. No it was actually his car that was not in gear and we rolled backwards into the car parked behind us. We quickly accessed the damage and there wasn't any so I ran into the house and my date made a get-a-way. Not my proudest moment but I still laugh when I think about it.

  54. One of my best dates was my very first date! I was in the 8th grade and was asked to go to our graduation dance by one of the nicest & best looking boys in class. My family could not afford a formal for me and it looked like I was going to have to decline. One of our teenage neighbors found out about my dilemma and asked me over one afternoon. There on her bed was 3 BEAUTIFUL formals and told me I could borrow one. I stood there and just nearly cried. We had so much fun trying on the dresses, talking about what to do with my hair and which shoes to wear. I picked out a yellow strapless one with a full skirt with layers and layers of yellow net --- Soooo… 50’s. The young man brought me a corsage of white gardenias. To this day I love the smell of gardenias and will never forget the generosity of my neighbor and how God provided. Joy

  56. Best date ever was my 23rd birthday... my then boyfriend took me to dinner, movie, and then back to his apt where a dozen roses, romantic music, and sweet setup on his balcony.

Down on 1 knee and proposed... that was 1996 and we married in '97. Life is sweet!

  57. My worse was a blind date. This boy had his paws all over me! My best date was also a blind date. I married him 5 months later! We've been married for 17 years!

  59. My best date was spending the day at the zoo with my husband and our three year old son. Both of the men in my life were loving, attentive, and complimentary. The animals also made me look skinny. A perfect day!

  60. Worst date - my date was flirting with someone else, which I later found out this was nothing new. I SO DUMPED HIM!! Best date lately- we went out for our 18th anniversary. We end up at the mall, I think for shoes (shoe store moving - cheap good shoes), he says, "I was thinking we could get new wedding rings." "There is nothing wrong with what I have," I tell him. He says he is getting a new one and suggests I do too. SO I did too a 3/4 carat one! He is a keeper!!

  61. My BEST date ever would actually be while my hubby and I were on vacation (we were just boyfriend/girlfriend at the time and were together for 3 1/2 years). We were in Myrtle Beach and after a day of bumming around and shopping we went for dinner. After dinner that night we went back to our hotel and hubby asked if I wanted to go for a walk on the beach. After walking for about 1/2 hour he said lets write out names in the sand and he goes frist and writes "Brent Loves Kim" I was so in shock because hubby is never romantic so I was taking it all in, when all of a sudden he pulled a ring box out of his pocket and on one knee asked me to marry him! It was the most romantic date of my life!

  62. My worst date? My first date. It turned out to be a double date, but my girlfriend came along to give me courage! What a disaster. We saw the movie "Charade". (That may give you an idea of my age.)

  64. My worst date ever was in my late 20's. It was a dinner date at a very nice Italian restaurant. We had just received our meal and my date excused himself to go to the restroom. Came back after a few minutes with his partial denture in hand saying something about not feeling well and when not feeling well he had to take them out. He folded it up in his napkin and put it in his pocket. He had to excuse himself several more times before we finally decided it was not a good night for dinner! It was a lot stranger at the time than it sounds as I'm typing it!

  65. Gorgeous cards & stamps!!!

Hmmm, I haven't had too many dates actually! Lots of fabulous dinners out and such with my hubby though that I will count as dates but no one good or bad one that stands out!!

  66. My best ever was a spur of the moment date with a friends brother. We had the best time and ended being great friends and still are today!

    ReplyDelete
  67. My worst date ever was actually with my now husband! I'm a very sensitive person and don't like practical jokes...especially those involving food! My date, bought me an ice cream cone, and as I proceeded to eat it, he hit my hand so the ice cream cone smashed into my nose. I was so upset! Then he felt terrible that I was so upset. But for some reason, I married him anyway! LOL! But he never did anything like that again! LOL!

  68. I can't even remember a date, like get dressed up and go out for dinner or a movie. That's what happens after being with someone for 29 years. I do remember a spur of the moment thing that we did last week that could be considered a date and it was really nice. We get too bogged down with everyday stuff. I am going to have to do something about that. Melissa

  69. The best date I will never forget is when the guy I had been dating for a few months called to see if I wanted in eat dinner in a certain restaurant. Little did I know this restaurant was 90 miles away! He picked me up on his motorcycle and we drove the distance on a perfect summer night. It was so AWESOME at the time...so adventurous! Should never have let that one get away!

Well my worst date stands out in my memory of all those horrible moments you just wish you could hit "delete" and they'd be gone forever. I was about 16 and was asked out by this real hunky popular guy. He came to my door just like a gentleman... opened his car door for me to get in. We're driving down the road and both of us start sniffing.... there's a definite odor. Soon it becomes evident that it's dog poop. I'm thinking... well it can't be me... I just left my house and there's only a 1 foot patch of grass between the sidewalk and the road... it must be him. Well.... long story short... it was me. In that moment on the 1 foot of grass getting into his car I apparently stepped in it and then got it all over his car. We had to pull off the road and let me try to wipe it off. Then he got his cologn out of the glove box and douced his car. Ugh!!! We both laughed about it coz what else can you do... but he didn't aske me out again and I was kind of glad! Pretty bad... but that's why they call me Grace!!!

  71. It was a blind date with another couple and I wanted to be with the other guy because he was my friend, and not the guy I was with because he was a real jerk. Of course, it was one of those all day never ending dates. It was just a disaster from beginning to end. Needless to say there wasn't a second date!

  72. Of course my best date was the first date I had with my dh (now deceased). It was in 1968 and we met in college in English class. After walking me back to the dorm for two weeks in a row, he finally got the nerve to ask me out for a study date--LOL. That was the beginning of a wonderful relationship that ended all too soon in 76 with his death due to cancer. Wonderful memories--dar

  74. Worst date - I don't remember how or why I was on a date with this guy but we spent it in a cold gas station/garage because his car broke down. (at least it wasn't on a dark lonesome road). Needless to say I did not go out with him again. But I did see him again....he was the assistant to the photographer I had when I got married. Blow me over with a feather. LOL

  75. My best date was with my hubby the night he proposed! He handed me a bag of M&Ms which I love and he had put my engagement ring in the bag and resealed it. When I poured the candy out in my hand out came a diamond ring! A very sweet start to a wonderful life.

  76. The worst date that I can remember was being set up on a blind date. When the guy rang my doorbell, I ran to Grandpa and refused to open the door because the guy was UGLY. I mean he looked like a weasel. Hey I was young and very into myself. My Grandpa made me go and they guy was older and boring. I think I went clubbing with friends afterwards

  77. My best date was the first date with my husband. Because we have been together ever sence. As they say the rest is history!

  78. Well I don't know if you'd call it the worse date but is certainly was humorous. Hubby and I went parking while we were still dating. It had rained and you guessed it, we got stuck in the mud right after we parked. We spent nearly an hour rocking the car back and forth and trying to get it out. He's out pushing so everytime I hit the gas he's getting covered in mud. We no sooner get the car out of the mud, park safely for a minute to catch our breath when a cop comes along and say "I know what you've been doing." LOL, not hardly since we were covered in head to toe mud. Yep, go ahead and think we were making out, we were really mud wrestling in the cold and wet, LOL!

  79. My worst date was when a long time close friend confided that he was in love with me. I decided I owed it to him to go on a date so I could try to envision him in a different light. Nope -- no sparks, just a good friend who was trying DESPERATELY to get me to feel different. It took years before we were good friends again!

  80. I don't even have to think about an answer to this question as that horrible, traumatic date was one that I'll never forget (and was hard to forgive - LOL!) I was sixteen yrs old when one of my classmates asked me to go on a blind date with his uncle,'Joe', who was 19 yrs old. At first I declined, but finally agreed to go after being assured that Uncle Joe was a really nice guy (should'a been my first clue...). Since we'd be going out with a group of our friends, my Mom agreed to let me go but warned me that blind dates were usually an unpleasant life lesson. Boy, was she right about that! Uncle Joe turned out to be a nightmare - he was very loud, obnoxtious, rude and kept trying to put his hands all over me, ugh!! Also, he was quite a bit older than 19 - he was almost completely bald! The date ended in 30 minutes as I demanded to be taken home! I've never gone on another blind date, since.

  81. My best date was two summers ago, when hubby and I dropped the girls off at "camp Grandma" for a whole week. We stayed in a hotel all by ourselves, visited museums every day, ate at restaurants that have no kids menus, and got to finish every sentence we started! After eight years of non-stop parenting, it was a wonderful treat. Must do it again sometime!

  82. My best date ever was with my husband...waaay before we got married. We sat out on my balcony of my apartment for about 5 hours just talking and getting to know each other. :) We both fell head over heals that night. It was just magical!

  83. My worst date ever was with my best friend's brother. I went over to his house, and it was all awkward because the whole family was home, and they knew we were downstairs watching a movie. I felt strange talking with my friend while I was there. It was just weird. We didn't have another date after that!

  85. Oh HOW FUNNY, I love all of the stories! I will share one of the WORST DATES! ALL of us have atleast one! I was a senior in high school. Way back in '75. I had gone on a date with a boy from my church. Being the naive girl that I was, I thought since he went to church he would be a nice guy. We were in his car and he keep putting his hand on my leg! I told him to quit being "handy"! Then he started making fun of me for using the word "handy" UGH! What humiliation! Lesson learned just because a guy professes to be a christain does not mean he is a nice guy!Of course any moment with my darling husband is the best.

  87. My best date was also my worst ever. It was the first date I had with my now husband. He decided dinner and a movie would be a great idea. After the movie, we went to his car only to find that it had been broken into and the stereo stolen. Didn't realize our first date would also involve a cop!

  88. My worst date was one of the first with hubby when we went to the fun fair. As we arrived I stepped over a fence and caught a thread in my trousers so the whole seam came undone. Had to walk round all day with my jumper tied round me on a baking hot day and avoid moving too fast!

  89. Oh, this was easy...my worst date was going on a motorcycle ride for the first time. I had long hair and didn't pull it up under the helmet. I had such a tangled mess of hair when it was over that I thought I was going to have to cut it all off!

  90. My worst date was in college. I made the mistake of going to a party with a frat guy. Many shots of tequila later (for him), he got in a fight....I was out of there.
Loving this set. Thanks for the chance to win.

  91. My worst date was a blind date someone I know set me up with. She said he was tall, handsome and had a nice body. He was shorter than me (I'm 5'2"), not bad looking and very thin. All he could talk about was himself.

  92. I still remember the worst date I ever had. I still think it was hilarious! I was a senior in high school and was asked out on a double date with a "hot" guy who had graduated from my school the year before. The whole evening was spent talking about HIM. The WHOLE night all he did was talk about himself. I was so NOT impressed. When asked later by people at school about my big date, I just told them that he as just a big jerk. Looks can be deceiving! LOL Thanks for a chance to win a great set of stamps.

  93. I married my high school sweetheart 28 1/2 years ago so it's been a little while since I had a date, but I guess the best time was when my husband (then boyfriend) surprised me by showing up at my dorm one Friday evening our first year away at college. We went to college about 3 1/2 hours away from each other and being separated for the first time was extremely hard. So he showed up and I scrambled around and found a guy friend for him to stay with and we spent the whole weekend just being together and catching up with each other. It really helped us both to get through that first while being separated and helped us to realize that we wanted to spend our lives together.
Thanks for the chance to win the great set!

  94. Not sure I have had a really good date or a really bad date but one date was pretty bad as I remember. Hey, I will be married 30 years this year - what do you expect? A guy called saying he was someone else and was taking me out for dinner. Well, he came to the house and it wasn't who I expected but I said o.k. I would go since we were to meet some mutual friends (I thought). Well, that didn't happen - we went to a little neighborhood bar and he bought me one drink. Then, said we were going to go meet my friends at the restaurant. Well, he started down a deadend street and stopped the car. He started making the moves on me and I hit him and he had a toupee on that fell off!!!!! I told him to take me home right then or I was going to scream bloody murder and all tell all his coworkers at the bank that he wears a toupee part of the time! Then, a few days later at the bank he walked by and made a rude gesture and sound and it just so happened I knew the bank president and VP who were standing close by. They asked me if there was a problem and I told them something like his toupee glue must have gotten to him while he was trying to pass himself off as a another person on a date. They asked me to come in their office and explain a bit more. Seems he was hitting on a bunch of the customers and most were too scared to talk or embarassed. Anyway, he lost his job shortly thereafter and moved away. Seems sort of silly and I wonder why I decided to trust him in the first place? Now, I think I would have been terrified with all the tv programs and news hype about rape and such.

Anyway, I love the sneak peaks of the new set! Thanks for a chance to win!

  95. the scrolls and hearts are fabulous - i can't wait for friday night! i can't say this was a particularly bad date, but as we were leaving the restaurant i tried to be helpful and put the keys in the ignition. i put them in upside down, but they somehow managed to go into the ignition pretty far and got stuck in there...we did manage to get them unstuck, but it took a long enough time that i was sure the car was ruined...

  96. My worst date was with a guy who took me to a dance. He said he was going to get us a drink and met up with some of his buddies. He went to play pool and never came back for me until he was ready to leave. Another guy came and offered me a ride home, but I thought it was more proper to have the one who brought me take me home. Wish I would have gone with the other guy. Not another date with that guy!

  97. Oh my gosh, my worst date was when I was in highschool. Where my date had forgotten his wallet and had realized this when we were ready to leave the restaraunt. He apologized profusely. It was no biggie I got the bill and told him that he could get it next time. To make it up he drove (yes, he still drove without his license) us to a nearby park that had a boardwalk by the water, after our walk we got to the car and he realized had locked the keys inside!! He was extremely apologetic and wouldn't stop. At the time cell phones weren't common so we couldn't call the autoclub or garage or parents to bring the extra set of keys. The closest pay phone was 20-25 minutes away. The back window was left open about half an inch and we tried to find things around to try to stick through the window to open the lock. After half an hour it started to get cold and windy, all I had was a light sweater and didn't prepare for the heavy rain that fell 15 minutes later! I was thoroughly drenched, cold and now miserable and my date couldn't stop apologizing that it became grating. I think it took another half hour but it felt like more before someone had come by chance and drove us to the nearest coffee shop where we could warm up and call his folks to pick us up. I'm a pretty easy going person and would have laughed it all off but because he was persistent in apologizing it drove me mental. He offered to reimburse me for dinner but I refused to accept it or go on another date with him again.

  99. I met this man online and we began chatting and eventually talked on the phone. We decided to meet in person so he picked me up and we went for coffee at IHOP. A year and a half later we married. We will celebrate 10 years in July.

  100. i LOVE THEM! Oh my GOD! Have to HAVE them. hehehe. My best date ever was when my hubby (at the time we were only dating) surprised me in the morning and said I'm taking you somewhere. I had no idea where. Turned out he had gotten us ferry tickets and took me over to Catalina Island for the day. It was so much fun and so beautiful. We rented a golf cart and drove around the whole island. :)

  102. Worst date - a setup by my best friend. Ugg....what was she thinking? Best date? The lunch date with my now dearly beloved that started the ball rolling so to speak. From work, he took me to lunch on his motorcycle as a thank you for making him lunch the day before - a meatless chili challenge! Nearly nine years later we are still together and happily fed!

  103. In college a guy asked me if I wanted to go out and play raquetball and then get a bite to eat afterwards. Showed up with his own raquet, said he'd meet me at the court and then pummeled me three games with me only scoring 5 in one game. Out to Shari's for a aftergame snack and he didn't ask me what I wanted and just ordered for himself and I had not a cent to get anything. Worst ever! At least he did call me from Shari's asking when I was going to show up.
