Sneak Preview: Just for You

Are you enjoying the June Sneak Previews so far? I know I have been blown away by all the amazing cards the Divas are coming up with this time (but then again, they always blow me away with their outstanding talent!). Today is Day 2 of the Sneak Previews and the featured stamp set is called Just for You. This set is all about placing the focus on meaningful sentiments to let that someone special know you care. Just For You will be available immediately following our Release Party this Friday night. Be sure to read all the way to the end of this post to find out how you can have a chance at winning this beautiful set!

From the desk of Diva Susan Liles:
Well, I couldn't help myself. Don't tell anyone, but I usually have to go "in order" and finish up a project I'm working on before starting a new one. But not this time. I just had to use this new Just for You set as soon as I had a free moment. I shoved everything aside and made a tiny spot on my desk to work this card out. I have to say, I think this set is my new favorite (arent't they all?). Before making any Verve cards, I always check out what our Diva, Amber's got going on over on the SCS forum with the Viva La Verve sketches. BINGO! Her week three sketch for June (VLVJUN03) called for a circle and a lot of white space. A perfect match for this card! I did fudge it a little bit and used Confetti Cream (or white?) instead of pure white. I really like the "organic" look to it with the yellow and the natural colored buttons. OH and it smells like chocolate! The sentiment is embossed with scented EP. Sorry ya'll can't smell it through your computer. Scratching and sniffing your monitor is not highly recommended.

From the desk of Diva Jen Tapler:
When I saw all of the super versatile sentiments in the new Just For You set, I knew it would be another of my "Go To" Verve sets that I find myself reaching for again and again. There's so much versatility with the sentiments in this set - allowing you to use it for a simple all-occasion card or for a very specific "special" card for an important and influential person in your life. Of course, as usual, Julee has chosen the perfect combination of different fonts and somehow put them together to give each sentiment a little more impact. I love the larger size of most of the sentiments and that circular "frame" has to be my favorite touch - making it so easy to create a project with a beautifully highlighted sentiment as your focal image.

From the desk of Guest Diva Kerri Michaud:
Hello! I had so much fun playing with all of the FABULOUS new sets this month! Thank you soooo much, Julee, for giving me the opportunity to be Guest Diva! It was a true honor! For my card I used one of the sentiments from Just For You. There are many sweet sentiments in this set, as well as some that are perfect for gift giving. I first stamped the sentiment with Chocolate Chip, then removed the ink from the YOU and leaves using a SU Blender Pen (a tip I learned from Julee). I colored the YOU with a Stampin’ Write Ruby Red marker, and the leaves with a Stampin’ Write Old Olive marker. I cut out the sentiment using Oval Nestabilities and layered it onto Kiwi Kiss and Chocolate Chip scalloped ovals. I stamped the daisies from Verve’s Wishful Elegance set with Chocolate Chip, and sponged them with Ruby Red. I cut them out and popped the larger middle one up on a Dimensional. I paper pieced the centers with some dp from SU Bella Rose DSP which is what I used on the entire card. I added the leaves that I punched out of Kiwi Kiss with the Martha Stewart Fern Punch and I love how they look with the leaves on the sentiment!

From the desk of Diva Amber Hight:
The sets being released this month are another fantastic bunch of stamps! I am especially loving the sentiments in the new set Just for You. I had so much fun playing with this set and I know that you'll love it too!
The card base is a 4.25 square piece of Rich Razzleberry cardstock. I embossed the flowers using my cuttlebug on a piece of black cardstock and glued it down. Next, I stamped the swoosh from Filigree Fantasy. I stamped the sentiment in Rich Razzleberry on Whisper White and cut it out with my circle nestabilities. The smaller circle was created using distress inks and Perfect Pearls by Ranger. I stamped the small branch in Versafine black ink. I added some fun pearls randomly around the card and finished it off with a chipboard butterfly by K&Co!
I hope you enjoy the rest of the wonderful sneak peeks!

From the desk of Diva Jen del Muro:
When I first saw this sentiment in the Just for You set, I knew that it was the one that I wanted to use for my sneak peek card. I think it's a very versatile sentiment that can be used on Mother's Day, Father's Day or even a special teacher's card. It can easily be modified into a masculine or feminine project. Mine is obviously a little more feminine with the satin ribbon and pearls. I hope that everyone is enjoying the sneak peeks and is ready for the release tomorrow!

Wow! Pretty hot stuff, huh? Stay tuned tomorrow for another fabulous set debut!

We've got another little somethin' in the Verve Candy Jar today!Just leave a comment with your answer to the following question before 5PM Eastern on Friday, June 26 and you'll be put in a drawing to win Just for You! Winners will be announced during our release party that night.

  2. I love Kerri's multicolour sentiment :)
My favourite saying: "Be who you are and say what you feel - those who mind don't matter & those who matter don't mind." That Dr. Seuss was a smartie!

  3. You do a really good job with sayings and I can't think of anything lacking in my stash as of right now. Keep up the great work!

    It's a good life!

  4. I thought my favorite set was Filagree Fantasy, but after seeing these amazing cards, I'm loving this Just for You set. I'm always looking for good sentiment sets, I much prefer a stamp to a computer generated saying.....

  5. BEAUTIFUL! These are so stunning! One of my favorite quotes goes something like "To the world you may be just one person, but to one person you may be the world." It reminds me to live a life of purpose and conviction every day! (Because you just never know who's watching you!) Oh- and I want to change my answer from yesterday to THIS set!!

  6. I love the new sentiments! I would like to see Joshua 1:9 "Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." A bit long, maybe an inside and outside stamp set?

  7. WOW! WOW! WOW! Love the sentiments and the cards ROCK! This DT has some very creative and super inspiring MOJO! Right now I can't think of a saying, but I love all the ones I see here. Thanks for a chance.

  8. What lovely cards and wonderful sentiments. I have been trying to find a Thoreau quote for ages, in a nice font, which I bet Verve could come up with in a heartbeat: "Go confidently in the direction of your dreams! Live the life you've imagined." It would be great split up, too!

    ReplyDelete
  9. These are all so pretty! This set looks great, and the sentiment is so nice!

    ReplyDelete
  10. I have several sayings I like: 'The roots grow deep when the winds blow strong' would go well with a tree image. I could visualize this next saying stamped over an image of several gears: 'Patience is the ability to keep your motor idling when you feel like stripping your gears'. Another one I like is 'Kindness is the oil that takes the friction out of life'. I always love your font style, Julee, so keep up the great work!

  11. My hubby is going to be deplying soon. I always love to add "Missing You", "Thinking of You", "Hoping you are Safe", "Can't WAit to See You" kind of sentiments to my collection. Thanks for the chance to win! I am excited for the release party coming up.

  12. WOW - can't even pick a favorite of all those samples! They are all amazing! Love the sentiments so far, bet the rest are just as good. Great job everyone!

    ReplyDelete
  13. I'm definately looking forward to seeing the rest of this set... it reminds me of Because of You, which I love. I think a great sentiment to have on a stamp would be "Friends are the family you choose for yourself" or something similar...not sure who the quote belongs too.

  14. What a beautiful set! This is going to be a best seller! My favorite verse to see on a Plain Jane would be from Psalm 30:5
"Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning."

    ReplyDelete
  15. Wow, what another amazing set of sentiments this is! The samples are just stunning........ALL of them!!
You already have some of the best stamp sentiments I've ever seen, but what I really need the most are an assortment of birthday sayings or poems for the inside of the cards.
    Carol

  16. I love the sentiment: Turn your face to the sun

    ReplyDelete
  17. These are awesome sentiments. I can't think of anything as Verve already leads in the business when it comes to sentiments.

    ReplyDelete
  18. These are beautiful! I would love to see a sentiments set all about children and babies. I have two small children and am working on scrapbooks for them. Things like "A baby is God's opinion that the world should go on" (Carl Sandburg) and the like would be wonderful for use in scrapbooks and cards.

    ReplyDelete
  19. It's kinda a family phrase, we have it framed as you come in our front door...
    "Keep Calm and Soldier On"
my hubby's in the Army so, hehe, but it reminds us that God's got it all under control, so just keep it calm and continue on with your day if something gets you flustered.

  20. I love a quote by Victor Hugo that goes "Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent." I would dearly love a Verve music set and that quote would be perfect. A fun quote I've always liked is "Smile....it makes people wonder what you've been up to!" :D Another good quote is "Feel the fear and do it anyway", but I have no idea who said that. I think it might be from a self-help book.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Oh my gosh!!!! This set is going to be awesome. All of the cards were just beautiful - those ladies have such talent to create! How about "Chocolate is cheaper than therapy and you don't need an appointment" or "The best things in life are not free, but priceless."

    ReplyDelete
  22. I know I will be ordering the whole kit and kaboodle this weekend!! LOVE everything I've seen so far. I love wedding sentiments....the two I have used are just typed out on my computer and then put on a card...

"Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same." (I think by Bronte)

"Paradise is always where love dwells." - unknown

I have a bunch of other ones at home, but am at work right now ;) I searched love quotes for my husband's Valentine cards.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Great sameples, Divas and wonderful sentiments, Julee :D Thanks for the chance to win.

One of my favorite sayings is "You have touched me. I have grown"

    ReplyDelete
  24. Just AWESOME, as always!!!

You really already have some FANTASTIC sentiments/sets... Off the top of my head, though, I would love to see a companion set to Practically Perfect (My absolute FAVE! Love those font combos!). I'd love to see a "Dream Big" and "I Love You To The Moon And Back" -- and perhaps even in a slightly larger size, too, for versatility and use in scrapbooking also?!?

    THANKS! Fingers crossed!

    ReplyDelete
  25. A meaningful saying to me is "cold nose warm heart"... I would love to see that. I also liked another commenters quote: "To the world you may be just one person, but to one person you may be the world." that is a beautiful saying.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Absolutely STUNNING artwork ladies! A favorite saying doesn't come to mind. However, I find inspiration through the Plain Jane scriptures.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I would love to see one that says "just be." complete with the period. It is an important phrase in my life.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I am not big on sentiments. I get the most use out of short, generic phrases: For You, Thank You, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I think Verve has so many thoughtful sentiments, so it's hard to suggest one!

How about something like: "With mirth and laughter let old wrinkles come." (Shakespeare)

It would be such fun as part of birthday stamp set!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Wow, these are gorgeous too! I can't wait to see them all together. I love the Plain Jane stamps, especially the verses. There is so much comfort and wisdom in them. I would maybe choose Proverbs 3:5- "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." I think especially in these tough economic times, when so many are losing so much, this verse is truly a source of comfort. That God does have a plan, even if we cannot see it, that He still is in control, even when we feel out of control, is some of the greatest comfort I know.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I wish I had a witty quote to offer, however, my well is dry today:( I like the short and sweet type of sentiments. I also like proverbs!

    ReplyDelete
  32. my favorite sayings is smile make people wonder what your thinking. I also like inspire, create, dream and one more is transform yourself, spread your wings and fly. achieve something great.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Okay, it's looking like there might not be a favorite or even a top of the wishlist. I've received birthday money and I think it will cover the whole release! This sneak peek is awesome divas. I love em all.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Wow, these cards are super and the sentiments are so special. I happen to rely on Jeremiah 29:11 daily.
"For I know the plans I have for you," says the Lord. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope" Jeremiah 29:11 It could be divided front and inside easily. The Bible was meant for our teaching and encouragement. It IS the best source of Sayings for all.I love this set "Just For You". It is really great. Martha

    ReplyDelete
  35. i love this!!!! It's just perfect and fantastic all in one!

I have so many favorite sayings, but i just love it when verve lets you combo the phrases. Maybe you need a wish set?? :)

    ReplyDelete
  36. That is an awesome set. Here is a favorite quote of mine -
Everything is always okay in the end, if it's not, then it's not the end. Unknown

    ReplyDelete
  37. I *love* this set!! (But what don't I love this month??) One quote I like is... "You must BE what you wish to BECOME"". It helps me remember that if I want to be known as a joyful or kind or gracious person, I must be joyful or kind or gracious today. Right where I am. In the present circumstances. I'd also love to see more Scripture. Even some of the more "unfamiliar" passages.

    ReplyDelete
  38. This new set is so wonderful. Thanks for the chance to get to win it. You always make such beautiful cards. Maybe in a birthday set "Have the best day on the planet" Paula

    ReplyDelete
  43. "I carry your heart with me- I carry it in my heart" (a little snippet of a poem from e.e.cummings- just beautiful)

    ReplyDelete
  44. Julee,

I am thrilled you asked this question, I have one that I have been wanting to share for a lonnnng while. Luke 5:38,"new wine must be poured into new wineskins"(if you read a study Bible it refers to drinking, but also refers to those who receive Jesus, will not want to go back to the old) I can see other sentiments that are speaking of looking ahead, brighter tomorrows, and the future. I also see images such as large ornate vases and jars....thanks for asking!

    ReplyDelete
  45. These are GORGEOUS! Props to the DT!
Favorite saying? 'If ever two were one, then surely we. If ever man were loved by wife, then thee.' Anne Bradstreet

I just love it. The sentiment seems perfect for all sorts of 'love' cards!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I'm still pretty new to Verve, so I don't know if these are already in the collection or not:

    "You're on my mind"
    "Hope you feel better soon"
    "I miss you so much"

    ReplyDelete
  47. I'm going with a simple one: Smile, it's contagious! It can be used as a card or a scrapbook image *husband never smiles :( I loved all the examples and can't wait til friday night when they go on sale! (or my name is called and I win it!)

    ReplyDelete
  48. I love inspirational quotes and scripture. I like the Plain Jane way to buy them. Also sympathy phrases like "I'm here for you". I would also like to see more card verses to use on the inside of a card. Longer, not just a phrase. Thanks for a chance to win.

  50. "I may not like you right now but I will Always Love you"..... LOL, that just came to me (I think I made it up)

    "Eat Dessert First"

1 Corinth 10:13 (God will not tempt ye above that which ye are able)
This one would be great to go with all of the Cupcakes and dessert stamps that are so popular right now

    ReplyDelete
  51. These are gorgeous! A quote I love is "Your never really leave a place you love~part of it you take with you: leaving a part of you behind.

    Can't wait till Friday! whoot!

    ReplyDelete
  54. Julee. awesome sentiments and fonts with this set.
    So many beautiful cards.
Since my Dh is a volunteer firefighter, I would love to see some sentiments or quotes for all the brave men and women who fight to save our homes and lives.
    Here is a few I would like to see;

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. ~Bible, John 15:13

Firemen never die, they just burn forever in the hearts of the people whose lives they saved.

Volunteer firemen do it for free!

Firefighting - one of the few professions left that still makes house calls.

Hug a firefighter and feel warm all over.

    Firefighters save hearts and homes.

  55. I don't know who wrote it, but there is a Christian Song "To God be the Glory" and there is a line in it that goes something like this: "All that I am, and ever hope to be, I owe it all to Thee." I think that would be a good stamp to have, perhaps changing the "Thee" to "God".

    ReplyDelete
  56. "What lies before us and what lies behind us are tiny compared to what lies within us" Emerson

I love this quote! It gives me courage!
