Sneak Preview: Because of You

Welcome to day 3 of the Verve Stamps sneak peeks. You are sure to love the samples that the Divas have created with the new set, Because of You.

From Diva Jen del Muro:
When I sat down to make this Mother's Day card, I had light pinks and yellows laid out before me. It wasn't long before I was digging through my stash to find some bright fun colors to make this card come to life. I'm seriously addicted to polka dots and this card was not spared from 2 different polka dot papers. I thought that they might clash, but I actually love the way that it all came together. The silhouette is stamped in VersaMark and then I stamped the sentiment over it in Brilliance Graphite Black.

From Diva Jen Tapler:
Hey there Verve fans!! Aren't you loving all these beautiful new Verve creations!?! When I saw the new Because of You set, I instantly fell in love with the cluster of flowers image. I can imagine so many possibilities with that image alone!! My favorite way to use that flower cluster is in the corner of a sentiment panel, and this set has some amazing sentiments (as usual)!! You could paper piece the flowers, color them with Copics or pencils, or fill them in with your favorite glitter or flock - seriously, the possibilities are just endless!!! For my project, I made a card and matching gift box to hold the spa gift certificate we give my Mom each year for Mother's Day. I used the DP from SEI as inspiration for the colors and chose my cardstock (from SU) to match. The box is a cheap paper mache box that I covered with DP, using Mod Podge as adhesive. After paper piecing the flowers and popping them up on dimensionals, I added some champagne dew drops to the centers. I used a circle punchout as a guide to create a wide curve in lower left corner of my image/sentiment panel. A few pieces of folded ribbon and I was done!!

From Diva Lynda Benden:
I hope you have been enjoying the wonderful sneak peeks so far!! I absolutely LOVE all of the new stamps but because of my fondness for Grateful Elegance, I was instantly drawn to the Because of You stamp set. Oh my gosh, wait until you see the complete set, you will LOVE it!!!! For my card today, I chose one of the silhouette flowers and one of the beautiful sentiments included in this set. I used no patterned paper, just card stock. I wanted a soft, subtle look to put the emphasis on the beautiful stamps. The card is 4 ½” square and the black and Kraft background was embossed using a leaf Cuttlebug folder. I added Bashful Blue accents for the butterflies, rhinestones and ribbon. I stamped the image and sentiment on Kraft using Basic Black ink and cut it out using one of the Labels Four Nestabilities. I used Julee’s shading technique to add the “glow” around the sentiment as well the rest of the card. I then added some piercing, light blue rhinestones and a decorative brad.

From Diva Laura Fredrickson:
I love cards where the sentiment is the focus, and Because of You has even more of the amazing sentiments you have come to expect from Verve. I chose the title sentiment for my card which works beautifully for Mother's Day and equally well for a best friend card. I love the words and message and it fit so perfectly into the card with the gorgeous blossoms from the set framing it. I kept the colours simple and incorporated them into the sentiment by piecing several of the key words. The images are as fabulous as the sentiments...trust me, this will be your next "must have" set and will soon become your "go-to" for cards for the women in your life.

Recipe: Stamps: Because of You (Verve), Paper: Whisper White, Regal Rose, Old Olive, Georgia Peach DP(All SU!), Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, SU Markers Accessories: Old Olive grosgrain ribbon, scallop border punch (SU!), Stardust Stickles (Ranger), foam tape, pop dots

We hope you've enjoyed the sneak peeks of the today! If you're feeling lucky, one lucky commenter on this post will win this set that we've shared today! Just leave a comment with your answer to the following question before 8PM Eastern on Friday, April 17!

Question: Who is the most inspirational woman in your life?

116 comments:

  1. I will have to say my grandma. She raised me until I was 14 and the values that she instilled in me stayed with me all my life. She passed away last year. She was in the Philippines and I live in Croatia. I'm thankful that God gave me a enough time (and financial resources) to see her, thank her for pouring her life to me, before she died. She was a Christian, so saying goodbye was a bittersweet moment. I look forward to seeing her again someday. Thanks for letting me share. And thanks for the stamp giveaway. This set looks great from the previews.

  3. My inspiration is my mom! She has supported me no matter what is going on. She (along with my dad) have set a godly example of marriage if I ever get married. Love this set!

  4. WOW! Love this set already and love, love what the divas have done with it :) I've always been inspired by my mom - she's strong in her convictions and fierce about taking care of her family. I also have a close circle of gal pals that inspire me daily as they face whatever life throws their way and still find time to support any of us who needs it!

  5. What a beautiful set! The most inspirational woman in my life has been a pastor's wife that took time to let me shadow her for a day when I was a young mom. I saw how she homeschooled, planned, kept track of things, made food for people, etc. I will always be grateful.

  6. I may be one of the very few to say such a thing, but for me I would have to say it's my mother-in-law. We have had our clashes, but should we or the kids ever need a single thing, she's the first one I'd call. She's a nurse, went back to school in her 40s to get an MBA, retired early due to arthritis, took up French, volunteers at the local schools, and dropped everything to come help us 6000 km away when our youngest was born early...for 4 months. She's quite the lady!

Most inspirational woman - my mother by far. She was my best friend and a wonderful parent.

    Thanks for the inspiration!

  10. This is an easy question for me. The most inspirational woman I know is my dear friend, Ang. Ang is one of those friends that you don't have to talk to everyday (heck, we go months sometime). But when we do talk, everything just picks up where we left off. She is the kindest, most giving individual person you will ever meet. But what makes her even more inspirational is that she has been fighting stage 4 cancer for 2 years now - and winning. It's been a tough battle, but the happy, go lucky gal that we all know still shines through. I love her to pieces.

She was my friend and a wonderful mother. She was so kind , caring and loving. I am who I am today because of her.
    I miss her dearly.

  13. I can't just name one inspirational womam in my life. There have been a few that have given me much inspiration for the way they have handled life's ups and downs, one being my mother, one being my mother-in-law, my sister-in-law, and most recent, my boys' kindergarten teacher. At the place I am right now, soon to be a preschool teacher in the fall, her model is my inspiration and has been for the last three years.

  14. I would definitely say my Mum. When I think of her I think of one of the phrases from 1 Cor 13 - Love always believes the best. My Mum is an eternal optimist - no matter how bad things get (and believe me, things have been pretty bad!) she always looks for the rainbow amidst the storm. She believes the best of her children and husband, even when all others have lost hope. Mum: you're amazing!

  17. It's so hard to pick just one inspirational woman...so I won't, I'll pick several.
My mom for sure...she's always been there when I needed her and has been the most fabulous grandmother to my children! My grown and almost grown daughters inspire me every day to live fully and be a better person for them. My dearest girlfriends show unconditional love and inspiration daily. What a blessing to know them all!

  23. That would be my daddy. He is still to this day the biggest influence on my life. My daddy has been there to hold me when times are good or bad, my rock to secure me to a good foundation and my hero. Always. He is a never ending source of inspiration and I am so thankful to have him as my Dad. Thank you for this opportunity, this set is a perfect description of my dad!

    ReplyDelete
  25. Definitely my mom. She just has a way of showing her support and admiration for everyone in her life without making it be at all about her. She makes everyone around her better!

    ReplyDelete
  26. The most inspirational woman in my life is my mom. She led me to the Lord when I was 7. And she has been that example of a godly woman with her walk and talk. She is my greatest supporter, friend, confidant and she always points me back to the Lord. I LOVE my mom dearly!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I have a friend who has worked for the government in anti-terrorism. She has interogated terrorists that have been captured and has gathered data in order to help capture terrorists. She has traveled the world for her job, leaving behind her family and friends in service to her country. Oh, and all this she has done from a wheel chair because a drunk driver hit her and her boyfriend while they were riding a motorcycle. She lost her leg in the accident. She was in college when the accident happened. I think she is a truly amazing woman.

    ReplyDelete
  28. The Women that has given my the most inspiration is my MOM! She is the one who made me have a desire to be crafty. She did so many different crafty things with me and my brothers as we were growing up that it made it impossible for me to not do something crafty as I got older. She gives me inspiration to keep learning new techniques and mediums. Thanks mom!

  38. My DH's 91-year old grandmother. She is such an inspiration in that she loves the Lord so much, she's in great health, and greets each day with a smile despite being widowed for many years and taking care of her 68-year old daughter who has breast cancer. She never complains and inspires me to live the same way.

    ReplyDelete
  39. As cliche as it sounds it would have to be my mom. Even though I am an only child, I have an uncle who is only ten years older. My mom was like a mom to him as well. Her and my dad put both of us through college, assited my uncle in getting his Masters and THEN my mom went back to college. She graduated with a bachelor in social work and completely changed her path in life. I am SO proud of her and because of her I know that age has no bearing on your dreams.

  42. I love the new set and your guys' cards are absolutely fabulous. I will have to say that my mom is the most inspirational women in my life, when her and my dad came to America they only had a few bucks in their pocket and some how today they now own 200+ acres of land, with a dairy business and have managed to send all three of their children to college. I think that if it wasn't for my mom and keeping us kids on track we wouldn't be who we all are today.
    Thanks mom!!

  43. Lovin' the sneak peaks. I'm going to go a different route with my answer on the most inspirational woman - mine are a couple of my close friends...they've helped me become the woman I am today and I've learned so much about myself, being a mom, etc. that I can't imagine being here without them!

  50. My friend, Debbie, has probably been the most inspirational woman in my life. She is a true Christian and lives her life in a way where that is so evident. I want to be like her "when I grow up". I'd better hurry up, I'm going to run out of time.

    ReplyDelete
  51. My high school math teacher. She showed me a woman can succeed, even excel, in a 'man's world'. She was always professional, polished, smart, witty and FUN! She taught me to have confidence in myself in all aspects of life and to strive to reach my dreams.

    ReplyDelete
  57. My mother is my greatest inspiration and the biggest influence in my life. She passed away 15 years ago, but I still feel her presence very clearly. She is very much a part of who I am... the very best part.

I also consider Jan Karon (the author) to be an inspiration, as is my dear friend Maryann K, who is a strong woman, with goals and determination, an excellent mother, and a Christian woman.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Beautiful artwork ladies! My woman would be my oldest & dearest friend Janey.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Ladies - your sneak peeks are all gorgeous!!! I can't wait to see the new Release :)!!!

The woman that used to inspire me the most when I grew up was my mother!!! She was a single parent and I always admired her strength for raising 3 little girls by her self at age 22. WOW - I hate to say it - unfortunately the admiration and inspiration has shifted.

To be honest I get more inspired by my three beautiful, smart, loving, funny daughters :)!!! I hope they will blossom into some wonderful independent women!!!

    ReplyDelete
  63. It would be easy to say my Mom because she is great. But I think I'm going to have to say my friend Dorothy. With a diagnosis of endometriosis and a desire to have a house FULL of kids, she did what she could and was able to have but one birth child of her own (2 months preemie) after being bed-ridden for most of her pregnancy. Two weeks later her niece was born and welcomed as the second child in her cherished family. Twelve years later, she dotes on her two daughters and shares love and joy with her extended family on multiple continents. I am honoured to have her call me friend.

  64. Not too sure how to answer this. My mom was at times but I really want to say my "old" boss in Houston. She ended up being more like a sister to me and we had some really good times and she taught me a lot of medicine and life in general. thanks Jan!

    Love the new sneak peeks!

We talk all the time and she gives me great advice. She's my friend more than anything, which I know is rare for a M-I-L! Plus, she got me into stamping, so she's REALLY an inspiration!

  89. By far my Mom is the most inspirational person in my life, let alone the women in my life. She had a lot to deal with growing up with her family but she always stepped in and did whatever had to be done, and she does that now with my family. Whoever needs help, support, comforting, a shoulder for any reason, my Mom has always been there, and I know will always be there for me and my family. She really is an inspiring person.

Loving this set, it looks amazing!

    ReplyDelete
  92. I would have to say my grandmother is the most influential woman in my life. My mom died when I was 9 so my grandmother really stepped in to give me the female guidance and spiritual guidance that I needed. She is 91 and still lives alone in her little house in WI. I just got to spend spring break with her. I cherish every moment I get with her. Thanks for the chance to share.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Oh what a pretty set! I think the most inspirational woman in my life is my MIL. She has been a wonderful support to my husband and I throughout our marriage and raising a family. She has been terminally ill for 3 years now (and still going strong- praise God) yet she is very upbeat and optimistic and giving even on her "bad" days! She is a wonderful woman.

    ReplyDelete
  94. I would say my cousin Peg. She has helped me over difficult times and shared happy times with me even though we live 700 miles away. Whenever we are able, we pick up just where we left off and it always seems like only yesterday we experienced a visit together. We share our devotion to our faith with each other. I count her as a special "angel on earth".

    ReplyDelete
  95. This set is so pretty.

My most inspirational person..would have to be my teen-age daughter. She is so smart, strong, loving, giving, and completely stands for what she believes in. I admire that, in a world where so many just follow whoever is in front of them, instead of being the leader!

    ReplyDelete
  96. From the sneak peeks you've shared, this is an amazing set! My inspiration is my mom. She was a military wife, having to uproot and set new roots down every year, yet she managed to keep "family" a strong part of my childhood. Home is truly where the heart is, and my mom's BIG heart helped create a home wherever we lived.

    ReplyDelete
  97. My Nana was the most inspirational woman in my life. I miss her dearly. I chuckle with the funny things she used to say. She was always trying to teach a lesson, but in such a kind way. I always wonder what she would do in situations and then make my decisions.

    Beautiful sets!!!

    ReplyDelete
  98. There's no question in who has been the inspiration in my life...MY MOM. I only had her for 20yrs of my life, but in those 20 yrs were a lifetime of love, honor, and respect. Through her love, she taught me how to love and be loved, how to have faith in God, as well as myself, and to set high standards for myself and the choices I made. Because of her, my children know how much they are loved and the circle continues.

  99. My mom has been such a good example for me. She has been through so much in her lifetime and she never complains! She enjoyed doing a lot of different crafty type things throughout the years, but never stamping so she loves getting my cards. Thanks for all the new sets.

  101. This set looks AMAZING! Can't wait to see the whole thing.

My grandmother, who was really not my grandmother at all, is the one person who has influenced me the most in my life. She was my babysitter from the age of one and I cherish every moment and everything she ever taught me. I am so lucky to have been blessed with this beautiful person who is ever present in all the things I do everyday!

  103. Would love to own this gorgeous stamp set. My inspirational woman is my friend, Barb, who has battled cancer twice and now has only 1 arm. She is always cheerful and still stamps and paints.

  105. Oh my gosh! I {{love}} this set! I think I may be getting the whole release this month! ;)

The most inspirational woman in my life is my best friend, Jessica. She has such a loving, calm disposition and such heart for God. It calms me to be around her, and seeing her with her children (and mine) has completely helped my attitude in disciplining them and being patient. {love} her!

  106. This set may be a "must have." I've been belssed to have many wonderful women as positive influences in my life, but at the age of 50 I'm finally beginning to realize and appreciate how wonderful my mother has been.

  107. My mom is amazing. She cared for my father selflessly for many years until his death a year ago. She is so giving and caring. I love the new stamp set and would love to make her Mother's Day card with it!!! Thanks for the chance to win it.

  108. Although she is no longer alive, my maternal grandmother has to be the most inspirational woman I've ever known. She lived a simple life, with not a lot of money or things, but she was a faith-full person before I even understood what that meant. I wish she was still alive so that I could tell her how much she meant to me now that I realize it!

  109. Beautiful cards... My grandmother was the most inspirational person in my life... She was the best mother, wife, grandmother, the sweetest, strongest, insipring, most faithful, beautiful woman in the world and I miss her dearly.

  110. Beautiful set! I would have to say my daughter inspires me -- she is only 3.5, but since she was 18 months, she has dealt with Type 1 diabetes like a champ. Often times, better than I deal with it. She is an amazing little girl and I'm sure will be an amazing woman.

  111. Wow, I love this set! I'd have to say the most inspirational woman in my life is my mom. I've grown to appreciate her more as a mother as I've aged and as my daughter has grown, I've turned to her over and over for advice.
