May Get Your Diva On
Happy Friday! It's Julee popping in again with a little update before the weekend hits.
A Little Vacation Time We won't be having a May stamp release due to design delays (mostly my lack of design time and a painful case of tendinitis in my wrist). To recharge my batteries and heal up, I'll be taking all of next week off (May 14 - 22). So if you don't receive a quick response when you send an email to Verve, that's because we're on vacation and we'll get back to it starting Monday, May 23. The website will still be open and my fabulous shipping assistant, Katrina, will continue shipping orders while I'm away, so it's only email communication that will be affected.
Get Your Diva On Challenge
Who wants to be a Guest Diva? Our monthly Get Your Diva On challenge is under way! Play along for your chance to be a Guest Diva for one of our future releases. It's a whole lot of fun working with the Verve Divas behind the scenes and all you have to do to be eligible is submit an entry with this month's theme, Material Girl. Anything fabric goes... you can use a premade fabric embellishment or create your own (felt counts!), stamp on fabric, or start with a fabric item (tote bag, apron, canvas tag or album, etc.) and embellish/stamp to your heart's content. The deadline is Sunday, May 15, so you best get a move on, if you're going to play! You can find all the details over in the challenge thread on our forum. And to get your creative wheels a'turning, here are a few material girl inspirations from our design team:

April Diva Dare - Day 10
Good morning and HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!! I hope all of you momma's out there, whether your babies have 2 legs, or 4 (like mine!), have a wonderful day filled with family and love!
I'm here on the tail end of the April Diva Dare, have you played along yet?

This month we dare you to make a card, project, layout, or whatever fits your stamping style using this month's theme - April Showers Bring May Flowers! With the warmer weather, new growth, and all the fresh and beautiful blooms that abound, it is easy to be inspired by Spring! How you interpret the dare is completely up to you! To sweeten up the challenge, stay tuned to learn how you could win some brand new Verve!
For my project, I really wanted to make something I could send to my mom for Mother's Day! I've been seeing and LOVING all the hoop art on Pinterest, but can't find one of the wood hoops here in Oki. BOO. SO I decided to stamp on the aida cloth and put it in a frame instead of the hoop! Here's how my project came out...
I'm sorry for the terrible picture, but I waited until it was too late to get a good picture so I had to take it outside, and the BBQ pit doesn't exactly make a great backdrop, lol!
Anyway, I stamped the leaves and flowers from Bloom and Grow different colored inks right onto the cloth background. I cut some flowers out of the aida cloth with my Floral Circles dies and then stamped the flowers and added buttons. The sentiment is from Love Deepens. For a final touch, I thought I'd spray some Glimmer Mist onto the cloth to age it a bit...bad idea. It blurred the ink that I hit so I quit spraying, lol! Next time maybe I'll try that first, and wait for it to dry before I start stamping. I added some pearls and ribbon and then stuck the whole piece in the frame. I really really love how this turned out and can't wait to make one for myself:)
EDITED TO ADD: I was asked what ink I used to stamp on the cloth, SO sorry I forgot to add that information:) The leaves are Rich Cocoa (Memento), and the flowers are Cherry Cobbler, Baja Breeze, and Old Olive (all SU!)

April Diva Dare - Day 9
Hi Verve fans! It's Sankari here and welcome to Day 9 of the April Diva Dare!
For those of you that are new to this challenge, here is how it works...following each release, we will post a theme that we dare you with, and you'll have two weeks to complete the challenge. During those two weeks, the release team will post their creations and tell you how they answered the dare!
This month we dare you to make a card, project, layout, or whatever fits your stamping style using this month's theme - April Showers Bring May Flowers! With the warmer weather, new growth, and all the fresh and beautiful blooms that abound, it is easy to be inspired by Spring! How you interpret the dare is completely up to you! To sweeten up the challenge, stay tuned to learn how you could win some brand new Verve!
This challenge is such a lovely one because it is so much fun to play with and combine all the lovely flower images the amazing and lovely Julee has designed and created! I choose to use the lovely stamp set Bloom and Grow which is full of flowers of all sizes and types and paired it with the lovely Mother's Day sentiment, which is from the Love Deepens Stamp set.
Here is a little Mother's Day Gift set with a card using the Mojo Monday 189 sketch. and a container that I intend to fill with some yummy chocolates :)
I stamped the flower from the Bloom and Grow stamp set in to different colors and cut each one out to layer together with a decorative brad. After creating the flowers, I stamped the leaf image inis stamp set and cut it out suing the with the ELegant Leaf die stamp set.
Card Ingredients:
Stamps: Bloom and Grow and Love Deepens Stamp set. from Verve Stamps
Inks: Memento Tuxedo black and Rose Red
Papers: Bo Bunny
Accessories: EK success scallops, bling from Want 2scrao, ribbon from stash, Ribbon Trio 3 and Wonky rectangles from Spellbinders, Elegant Leaf die from Verve Stamps, dimensionals and liquid pearls.
I created a coordinating container that can be filled with chocolates and other treats and then later used to store other memorabilia.
I can't wait to give this little present along with some sweet smelling flowers! Hope that your May is full of flowers!

Here's how I answered the challenge:
I mixed one of Verve's newest releases Hope Blooms, with May's Stamp of the Month set Dare to Be. One of the many beauties of working with Verve images is that they all mix and match so well!!
Lastly, I added some Stardust stickles dots around the flower centers, some basic vertical embossing stripes with my Scor-Buddy, a button with embroidery thread and a punched border. Very easy!

I chose to answer the dare with my newest favorite floral set -- Hope Blooms. I love fussy cutting these flowers and manipulating the petals for some fun dimension. And the sentiments in Hope Blooms are so representative of Verve -- uplifting, versatile, cheery, and done in the most fabulous font combinations. I've used a mixture of papers from Crate Paper's Portrait collection along with some Spellbinders dies and a paper doily. The layout is the gorgeous Viva La Verve (May, Week 1) sketch by Amber:
