Sneak Preview - Day One

It's time again for another Verve release! Are you excited? We sure are! We think you're really going to like what you'll see in the next three days, so stay tuned!

Today, you get to see two new sets being released on Friday, May 22nd. . .Sweet On You and World's Best. Enjoy!

from Diva Jen del Muro:
What better way to say thanks to Dad for all the things he does by giving him a "World's Best Dad" award. Those dads that are the best will proudly wear this paper ribbon...at least on Father's Day. The top part of the ribbon was created with Nestabilities pinked circles and regular circle dies. The hanging part of the ribbon was embossed with the Houndstooth Cuttlebug embossing folder. I placed a pin on the back of the ribbon and attached with a tab on the card. The top part of the tab has repositionable double sided, so that the ribbon can be placed back on the card when not in use.

from Diva Amber Hight:
Julee has gone and done it again and come up with a FABULOUS sentiment set! This stamp set is sure to have sentiments that you'll reach for over and over again! I chose the "You Color My World" sentiment. The card base is So Saffron. I stamped the background stamp from Wishful Elegance in Chocolate Chip on a piece of Close to Cocoa cardstock and rounded one corner. Next, I stamped the sentiment in Chocolate Chip on a piece of Regal Rose. I added some threaded buttons to the sentiment panel and then cut a piece of scalloped Purely Pomegranate cardstock and adhered it to the bottom. I also cut a piece of Purely Pomegrate for the bottom of the card. The ribbon is by Making Memories and of course my beloved butterfly punch by Martha Stewart! Last but not least, I cut a flourish from the Basics 3 cartridge for my Slice machine.

from Guest Diva Teresa Kline:
Hello everyone, it's Teresa and I am truly honored to be able to bring you a sneak peek card for the month of May. Julee continues to bring us some fabulous stamps and the May Release sets are no different. For my card I used the new sets Worlds Best and Sweet On You. I stamped the stars in SU kiwi kiss, they are from an older set called Seeing Stars. The colors of cs are SU kiwi kiss, black, and SU urban oasis dp. I used my Janome to sew around the back panel, added black checkered ribbon, added black brads, and I used my glitter pen to outline the stars. I punched the sentiment out with SU oval punch, the back layer behind the sentiment I cut out with scissors. I also finished the inside of my card. I hope you enjoy the sneak peeks and the totally awesome creations the divas have brought to you.

from Diva Charmaine Ikach:

When I first saw this sentiment in the Sweet On You set, I immediately thought of this picture of my son Isaac from last Halloween. Having two older sisters, he didn't have an appropriate costume that could have been "handed down", so we came up with this. As you could imagine, he didn't keep the headband on too long! This was one of the very few pictures I was able to get with him wearing it. This sentiment was PERFECT and I'm sure you'll think the others in the set are too!

So, how would you like to win these two Verve sets? If you're feeling lucky, one lucky commenter on this post will win the two sets we've shared today! Just leave a comment with your answer to the following question before 8PM Eastern on Friday, May 22nd!

Don't forget to check back in the next two days to see even more sneak peeks! We hope you'll join us for the release party this Friday, May 22nd at 9pm EDT in the Verve Forum!

  1. Wow! Fantastic work ladies. I love the cards and the L.O. I can't wait to see more. Fav memory of that special someone. Hmm there are so many. My dad died 3 yrs ago and there isn't a day that I don't think of him. He was always there for me. When I was younger we went to the movies, snowshoeing with a lunch and hot chocolate in the wintertime. Later on in life he was always there to help me with my own home gardening and home repair and just to be there. I miss he alot.

  2. Just found ya! I'm putting stuff in my shopping cart for the sale on Saturday!!! Great images and I love the scripture sayings! Can't wait to see the rest of the release. My favorite memory of my hubby can't be listed as really one thing - he's definately not a romantic guy and doesn't do the big stuff - but he's amazing with all the little things he does. When I'm gone for a few days he always "does" something for me he's a fixer and very handy. My girls and I got back Monday from a 4 day trip and he had put up a new light in my scrap room - touched up the paint in my daughter's room and DUSTED!! YES DUSTED my youngest daughter's room. It's how he shows his love to us and I think it is AMAZING!! Thanks for the chance to win!

  3. What wonderful new sets these are going to be! In honor of Dad, my favorite memory is of the one time he bought me a gift all on his own. He's very shy and reserved, and he left the doll outside my bedroom door where I was sure to find it. I still have it and it's one of my greatest treasures.

It is hard to pick a favorite memoryof my hubby, but I will always remember when we went to the beach in San Destin,FL. He is NOT a beach person, but he took me anyway because I was dying to go and when I yelled that the water was fine, he took off his cap and came running into the water to hug mewith his eyes squeezed shut. LOL

Tanks for the chance to win.

  5. Can't wait till Friday to see all the wonderful new goodies you've cooked up for us, Julee :)

My dad died 3 years ago and I've been thinking of him a lot recently as my son is in track right now. He was my track coach all through high school in the shot, discuss and javelin and his coaching allowed me to may the provincials two years in a row (like state for you down there). He attended every track meet and we spent countless hours practicing. He even taped me while I threw so we could look at the tape and correct things in my style. He was a wonderful dad with a huge heart. Thanks for the chance to win.

  6. You did it again ladies..I LOVE all the samples.
My favorite memory of my hubby is when he drove three hours just to take me out for a surprise dinner on valentine's day just to turn around and drive all the way back to make it to class the next day!!!!

  7. I absolutely love the new images so far. I can't wait to peek at the rest. I am very excited about this release since my DH said I could purchase whatever I wanted! My fav. memory of that special someone is when my DH proposed. He was in the military, on leave and drove 9 hrs. to see me. 1 in the morn, he came in still in uniform and woke me up, got on one knee, and popped the question... I cried!

    ReplyDelete
  8. Well, I don't have that "special someone" so I would say that my favorite memories are with my only nephew. I love how he comes running up to me randomly and says, I love you aunt tami. Warms my hear!

    ReplyDelete
  9. How exciting. Can't wait to see the set as a whole!

That special someone isn't just one person. Since I talked about my mom last month it should be someone else! lol

My hubby and a memory. Our first date was going to a movie. I was late meeting him. We went into the crowded theatre and as we shuffled by people to get to the last two seats, someone's big bag of M&M's dropped and M&M's started rolling down the theatre floor sounding like a rain stick.

I try to give him a bag of M&M's on that anniversary every year. See this years bag here.

  10. Looks like two more FANTASTIC stamp sets! Great samples!

It's always hard to pick just one... but I am particularly fond of the day DH proposed to me... ;) Thanks!

  11. Wow great looking stuff laides! can;t wait to see the entire sets. A favorite memory for me and my DH is the Red Sox game that we went to a few years ago. It rained all morning and we thought the game would be cancelled. About 30 minutes before game time the rain stopped and the game was awesome. A great day for both of us. Better even than our wedding day! Gasp! Crazy I know!

    ReplyDelete
  12. Fabulous cards!! My favorite memory would have to be my fiance first telling me he loved me when we started dating and then when he proposed.

    ReplyDelete
  13. What wonderful new sets and the previews are divine! Hmm, what is my favorite memory of the "special someone"? I guess that special someone is my hubby and how do you forget your marriage proposal? That would have to be it. He was so sweet and unsure. I'm not sure how he could have been I am crazy head-over-heels in love with him and had been with him for over 5 years. Anyway, enough blah-blah!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Love the fonts on these sentiments! My favourite memory of my "sweetie" is our first kiss...it happened on our second date as he was too nervous on the first. We laugh about it now, four years and a wedding later :) p.s. it was worth the wait! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  15. What great sets, as always! My favorite memory I am going with is of my dad. He was injured when I was in grade school and became a stay at home dad. Every day he would pack my lunch in a grocery sack--seriously. He said that he wanted to make sure I didn't go hungry--LOL After school, we would always stop at a local mom and pop for a soda. I love my dad SO much and am SO greatful for these memories.

    ReplyDelete
  16. When I was little, in the summer time my dad would take me to work with him. He was a bricklayer and those days were so much fun. He'd give me a little bit of mortar and some brick chips and let me "build" with him. then at lunch time we'd cuddle up and have lunch together. Such great memories.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'm blessed to have my Dad still with us. My favorite memories of him are the summer trips we took as a family up north in Canada. We'd hang out together playing cards, going fishing, whatever. Didn't matter...we were all together having fun. In fact, starting again a few years ago, we've been on vacation in the summer together, and I cherish every minute of that time.

  18. Hi ladies!
Great job, and can't wait to see the new sets!!!
My fav memory of that special someone is laughing at my dad's corney "dad-jokes" - you know the type. When he starts laughing, it catches like wildfire (but my mom just rolls her eyes). LOL!
Thanks for the chance to win!

  19. Those are some beautiful cards. I can't wait to see the rest of the new sets. My favorite memory is of my dad (now deceased) playing with my son when he was about 4 (now 19). They were at a park and sliding down circular slides and playing on a see-saw. They were having so much fun together. It is especially memorable because we lived out of the state and my son didn't get to see his "pappy" very often.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Fabulous artwork ladies!! My dh & I met on a blind date. After our first date I left town for a long weekend. When I got home there was a message from him asking me to call him no matter what time it was. He wanted to come over & fix me dinner! He brought everything & did all the work! We married 5 months later!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Looks to be another awesome release! My favourite memory of my dearly beloved is when he "fed" me before we went to catch our first movie together - crackers, cheese, hommus and olives. That's about the extent of his cooking!

    ReplyDelete
  22. awesome, awesome!! love them all!! one of my fave memories of my hubby is his reaction when i gave him a positive pregnancy test stick as his bday present! and of the one i gave him one Christmas!!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Beautiful work!! My favorite memory...hmmm...There are sooo many great memories of my hubby since I met him...but I think one that is going to move rapidly up the ladder to the top spot is one from this week. I came home from being gone on vacation at my parents with our son for 10 days. The first full day I was home, he came home from cutting hay at lunch with a little bucket of strawberries he had picked. He hates them, but knows I love them...Reminding me again about how much I adore him!

    ReplyDelete
  24. I've been looking forward to this week all month and can't wait to see everything. I think one of my most favorite memories of my husband was when he came to visit me in Portland. We weren't officially dating at the time, but we had a great weekend spending time just the two of us getting to know each other. That weekend was the beginning of a 3+ year long-distance relationship. And we've now been married almost 6 years and have a beautiful daughter. Way back then, I don't think we would have ever guessed we would end up where we are today.

    ReplyDelete
  25. My favorite memory is of my mom who has been dead over 30 years. When I was a little girl, she worked and always got home around 5 p.m. I would wait at the picture window of our house for her to come down the road and pull in the drive way. Then, while she changed clothes from the day, I would sit on her bed and talk about my day. It was a special time, and one I really missed after she died.

    ReplyDelete
  26. My favorite memory is of my grandfather. He did not like to go shopping so my grandma bought all the presents even her own, but he always did the wrapping. When my grandma opened her gifts that year there was a $20 bill in each gift. She was so surprised!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'll always remember the way my husband looked at me as I walked down the aisle at our wedding. 22 years later, the look in his eyes can still make me melt!!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Wow, Awesome work ladies.
I can't wait to see more of the sets.
I have many fav memories of my Mom.
She wasn't just my mom, she was also my best friend. We did many things together.I've been crafting
since I was little, and she always loved what ever I did. She looked forward to receiving homemade things from me.I miss her dearly and wished she could now see my cards.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Oooh. I love sneak peak weeks! These cards/creations are all fabulous!

My favorite memory with my dad comes from our long drives home during college. My dad taught at the college I attended and we would carpool home for the holidays (a 6 hour drive). The conversations we would have will never fade from my memory.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Great samples! Can't wait to see the full sets... I am very lucky to have lots of special people in my life, but my Dad was recently diagnosed with cancer & going through treatment at the moment. It has made me think of some wonderful memories of spending time with my Dad doing 'stuff' !! Nothing really very important but to me they were wonderful times! I am looking forward to Dad making a full recovery & my little boy spending time with his Poppy doing 'stuff' & making some lifelong memories of his own.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Wow, you ladies, do not disappoint. These are great projects. My best memory with my DH - wow just one? There are so many, but of course, on the top of the list are the day he proposed (an all- day event) and our wedding, not to mention the days our girls were born. Oops that's 3! What can I say :-) - God has blessed me with a wonderful hubby. Can't thank Him enough for the blessings in my life.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Looks like more beautiful stamp sets coming our way soon - thanks for the great inspiration. One of my fave memories is of my Scottish grandmother "Nanny" doing a highland jig one Christmas while my uncles were playing the tune on various instruments. She had such spirit and was a real character. I still think of her so often, even though she's been gone over 30 years.

    ReplyDelete
  33. fantastic work!! Love having a look at what is to come.

One of my fondest memories is the Christmas we got to spend with my Father-in-law the Christmas before he died in August. The whole family was together--we rented a condo in Gatlinburg, TN. No one knew at the time that it would be our last Christmas together and what a special memory. I can honestly say as I look back--if I had known this was our last time together, I wouldn't have done anything different. We had an awesome family time. He was a great man and is greatly missed!!!

  34. Such emotions these kinds of stamps and topics evoke.... My special someone would be my father...he left when I was 6....and we were estranged most of my life...and then he died 5 years ago - he was only 56....sad. I have one memory of him and that's fishing with him in Mississippi....and getting my line caught repeatedly...my papaw was with us then too - just the 3 of us...it was a day I'll never forget...it's in my heart forever.

    ReplyDelete
  35. My favorite memory of.... well, that would be my DH, and without going into too much detail, would be the first time he kissed me. Sounds juvenile, I know, but the kiss was magical, so I married him.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Love these new sets! My favorite memory is of my dad. He ran his own bussiness from home when I was in grade school so every morning we would have breakfast together and then he would pack our lunches and then we would sit down together and he would brush my long hair into pony tails and we would talk. I still love to just sit with my dad and talk!

    ReplyDelete
  37. One of my favorite memories of my Dad is when my Mom would go out of town and I would stay home with him. HE and I would get in the kitchen and cook! We would come up with all sorts of crazy menus! Just whatever we were in the mood for! Then we would go to see the War movies that you had to wear the 3d glasses with (remember those?) and stop for ice cream on the way home! He passed away in 1990 and I never go through a day without a thought of him and how much I miss him! Great sets but I love everything Verve makes!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Awesome previews!!! I have to many special times to list...LOL.. Thanks for the chance! KATHY HERING

    ReplyDelete
  39. Verve has the best stamp releases. Love all of your sneak peaks, always get me so excited. My favorite, memories are the special quiet times while nursing my babies and those sweet little smiles while looking up at me

    ReplyDelete
  40. Great work on all of the projects! This looks like a great set. One of my fondest memories is spending it with my Father's mom in Mexico. She was very poor and although I spent most of my time with my mother's parents, I got to spend a whole day & a half with her, just talking and listening to stories and helping her around her very humble but very wonderful one room house.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Favorite memory of someone special. . . well, that would be my Dad last summer teaching my young DS how to cast a fishing line. My father is on oxygen so seeing him and my DS together is very special to me since we don't know how much time we have left with him.

    ReplyDelete
  42. My favorite someone has to be my husband. He is the calmest person I know. He seldom gets upset with me or our sons. He is just the greatest example for them-strong, kind, hard-working, patient, and he has a strong faith and love of the Lord.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Great cards lady. Love the new sets!! So my fav memory of my dad was when I was little and he used to let me drive the tractor or the truck as he was in the back or on the trailer putting down the hay bails for the cows. It used to make me feel special that I could drive the tractor and the truck but what I didn't know was that the truck/tractor was in Neutral but it still made me feel like a grown up at such a young age.

  44. Beautiful cards ladies. These sets look like they are going to be great, My favorite memory of my sweetie is when he decided for our first Valentine's Day he was going to start gift giving early. So every day for the week before Valentine's Day he had a new different gift to give me. He hates to go shopping but he took the time and effort to pick 7 very special and wonderful gifts to give me for our very first Valentine's Day.

  45. I check your blog on a daily basis just to see what everyone has created. You all do such wonderful work and are super talented. It motivates me. ONE of favorite memories might sound kind of silly but it's just one of those things that has stuck with me. It was the smell of my Grandmother's basement, whenver she did laundry. Sometimes, til this day, when I go down to my basement, I take a deep breath and smile, because it reminds me of my beloved Grandma. She was an awesome lady!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Wow, I have so many. I guess remembering when my babies were born are my best memories.

    ReplyDelete
  47. I just learned about this line of stamps now!! Thank you!! You are making great cards with them and LOVE LOVE the sentiments they have.

  48. I'm assuming that the "special someone" is Dad. My favorite memory is from when we were at Costco doing some shopping. We passed by a display of cute stuffed rabbits. I made a comment on how cute they were, but didn't think any more about it. As Mom and I waited at the register to check out, Dad snuck back over to that display, got one of the rabbits and then bought it for me without me even knowing what he was doing. That's my Daddy - a big teddy bear!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Great inspiration ladies (again)!!!

I have a ton of favorite memories...my dad has always been there for me. One of my favorite memories is when we would go camping and boating growing up. He always taught me tons and had tons of patience while doing it. He and my mom just moved to be closer to us and I am so enjoying them being near again!

    ReplyDelete
  50. Great new images and samples! Favorite memory- hmmm, lots of them. I often think about sitting on my grandparents' porch with them on a hot summer night listening to all the sounds- crickets, whipperwills, and watching the airport light swing across the horizon.

    ReplyDelete
  51. My hubby has created many special memories over our 29 years of marriage (this Sunday, the 24th) but one of the sweetest was for our 25th anniversary. He and my son picked out an eternity diamond ring style, had it made in NYC and presented it to me for our anniversary as a surprise! It is a beautiful ring and a memory that I will always have.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Love what you've done... I have many memories, but love thinking about "trying out bathtubs" with my future husband, way back when -- when we were just friends and he was helping me to build my home.

    ReplyDelete
  53. My favorite memory is of my grandfather who passed away when I was 12. He always had quarters and sugarless candy in his pocket for us and would have my grandmother make us treats!

    ReplyDelete
  54. My dad wasn't a father but I had someone who was. This man took me under his wing when I started working for him at the age of 26. He taught me to be proud of the person I had become and always told everyone how proud he would be to have a daughter like me. I worked for him for 13 years until we were fortunate enough to be able to adopt a child. This would never have happened it not for him. He is an attorney and prepared all our paperwork and covered every base. I quit to raise my daughter who call him Unle Jerry. I'm so glad to have him in my life! -mary R.

  55. Great sets! I can't wait to see more done with them. Favorite memory of my Dad is playing hide and go seek in our basement with my siblings and I to help those of us who were afraid of the dark get over that fear. It worked too! jmniffer

    ReplyDelete
  56. I have soooooo many fave memories of special someones. I'd have to say that putting together 1000 piece puzzles with my dad on Christmas day or Thanksgiving weekend is a special memory.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Eeeee!!!! new sets!!!!! : ) Love them!!!!

Fav. memory of my dad is just hanging out eating popcorn and drinking his coffee at the diningroom table while he listened to me babble about whatever I needed to babble about at the time. : ) Popcorn reminds me of him...love you dad and miss you!!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. My dad died on December 7, 2004, and each and every day there is a different special memory that pops into my head and leaves a smile on my face. One of my favorites is the many times he and I would go fishing on the lake at the cottage. We had this precious quiet time together while wrapped in the glory and beauty of God's creations. The mist on the water as the early morning sun rose while birds sang like a grand choir in the back ground. This memory and others keep my father alive in my heart and, without a doubt, I know I will see him in Heaven some day.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share this special time.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Wow!! Great work!!
My favorite memory would be the time that we sat and listened to my gmothers storys of her childhood or of her young womanhood. I hope these memories never leave me due to my gmother passed away a week ago. I miss her so much and I love her so!!!thank you so much for all the work you do.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Beautiful work!

My favorite memory is fishing with my grandfather for bluegill, crappy, and bass. It would be just the two of us and he had so much patience with me. He never complained about all the times my line needed to be untangled.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Wow - can't wait to see hte rest of the sets! My favorite memory of my husband would have to be when my boys were babies and he would let them sleep on his chest while lying on the couch. They were picture perfect moments of how much love he felt for them and how safe he made them feel.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Wow! Fantastic cards. Great stamp sets too! One of my favorite memories of my granddaughters is how excited they were when they saw Cinderella for the first time during the Main Street Parade at Disney World. The smiles on their little faces made it all worth it.

    ReplyDelete
  63. I would love to win these stamp sets and would really use them a lot....my special memories are so many but with father's day coming and my dad having passed I love the memories of he and I fishing together.....so comforting to have those memories when I miss him so much....

    ReplyDelete
  64. My Dad is a very special person. At almost 83, he is still very active, takes a 2-mile walk every evening and helps us in whatever we need around the house. After my parents divorced when I was 7, Dad willingly stayed home with six of us. After he closed the mini market attached to the house, he'd cook us dinner, there was no fast food. On my 8th birthday, he made me my favorite cake, from scratch. It breaks my heart now to think of how exhausted he must have been before he even started sifting flour. Next month he will move in with me and my 4-year-old son will be so lucky to spend the afternoons with Grandpa... I'll do the cooking this time.

    ReplyDelete
  65. My mom always laughs at everything. I don't care what we are doing she is a gigle box. Once we moved to an upstairs apartment. She laughed so hard while we were trying to get a big heavy couch up the steps that I thought we would drop it for sure. She made an otherwise miserable event such FUN! I lve her.

  66. I would love to win a set of Verve stamps. I discovered you just before your last release and I was at a stamping club the night of the release party, but jumped on the computer at midnight to order the Because of You set! :)
It's probabaly corny, but my favourite memory of someone special is when my husband proposed to me.... we were at a New Years's Eve party and at midnight he started to get down on one knee but realized that everyone was starting to look at him so he stood back up and whispered it in my ear. It made it very intimate.

    ReplyDelete
  67. One of my favorite memories is of my "Grammy". One Christmas Eve she drank too much eggnog & took all us kids into the kitchen. She grabbed the fruit basket & stuck it on her head, meanwhile apples and oranges were flying everywhere, and proceeded to teach us how to tap dance. We all thought it was so fun, while our parents all stood around shaking their heads...

Congrats on a new release! I was just the other day I wanted to find hot air balloon stamps~ how funny is that?

    ReplyDelete
  68. My special someone is my husband--my favorite special memory of him is two memories, when our children were born. I actually have a picture of him where he is looking at our firstborn, a girl, and you can just see the love in his eyes already--she was only a few hours old. He changed and became a different person that day, and I caught that change on film. Looking at it still makes me teary!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Wow, all of the projects are fantastic! I'm so excited to see the new sets! My favorite memories of my hubby are watching him play with our children. He is truly their best friend and I just love him for that!

    ReplyDelete
  70. Love the new things! Great job! My favorite memory of that special someone is rocking my children to sleep when they were babies. Every night we rocked until they fell asleep and I did this with both of them until they were too big to hold any longer! What I wouldn't do to have that opportunity again!

    ReplyDelete
  71. Fantastic samples, love sweet on you!
One of my favorite memories of my DH is one of our first real dates--he took me to Boston on the hottest day and we had some drinks while listening to jazz music. Then we walked down to the Charles river, and he brought a blanket so we could lounge (with everyone else!) for fireworks on the 4th.

    ReplyDelete
  72. wow! These are just fantastic!! I love those sentiments.

I'm not sure i can pick a 1 favorite memory of my hubby! Um... well, he's bad at birthdays and always forgets or doesnt get me anything (like, not even a card) he just tells me to get something for myself. Which while that does work to my crafting advantage i was sad to never get something special. Last year when he didnt believe me when i said he had NEVER gotten me a card or a cake and i said, then where the box? and he said the box? and i said i keep everything, you know that. Why dont i have a single card from you?! So he threw me a surprise birthday party and got me a cake and a card for every birthday he missed. I had cakes on every countertop and had to send cakes home with everyone!
