It's Time for September's Project Parade---Day One!

Who's Feeling Krafty?!! Can you believe it's already time for another Verve Project Parade? I am thrilled to be kicking it off this month and with the announcement that this month's theme would be "Gettin' Krafty"! I have always loved using Kraft cardstock. I know, I know, some of you out there shy away from it, but why? Because it's not girly enough? Because it lacks color? Because it looks like a paper bag? I tell you, I have a hard time NOT using it! To me, it's like a good ol' pair of comfy bluejeans that can go with anything! There's something so "earthy" about it, yet it can be dressed up or down. This time, I took a more modernistic, but still earthy approach with it, and used circles for my main images. Another look I love is stark white against the Kraft color, so I chose to heat emboss the main images with white embossing powder. I then added the brown cattails behind the embossed flowers--just a little "emboss resist" technique, I think. I don't know if that's the technical term for it or not. I stamped the brown right over the white and the embossed part resisted the ink, so that makes sense to me!

Wanna get Krafty, too? Just upload your creation to this post no later than noon on September 30th. If you upload to SCS, please use keyword VVPP06, so we can all drool over your Krafty loveliness! A random participant will be drawn on October 1st to receive $15 in Verve Bucks to spend at the Verve Stamps store! Good luck and go get Krafty!
