Guest Designer Spotlight - Lindsey Botkin

It's my pleasure to introduce our second Guest Designer for the Verve August Release... Lindsey Botkin! This month has been so fun...to work with two of my heroes is a little surreal! I love Lindsey's fun, colorful style...she always has a little extra detail to make her cards so special! You can find more of her creations in her Verve Gallery and on her blog, Embellished by Jacksonbelle.

This card is probably one of my favorites I've seen with Grateful Elegance. It's so happy and fun, and I love the stitching details.

Before the next card, I'll share some of Lindsey's answers to the Verve-i-View questions.
1. When/how did you get hooked on stamping?  I got hooked on stamping a few years ago after my first Stampin' Up! party! I became a demo shortly after that for about a year. Stamping is such a way of life now, it's hard to think of a time when I didn't!
2. How often do you stamp? I try to stamp every day!
3. Tell me about your funniest or most embarrassing stamping related injury. I've done this twice now. I've had my paper piercing tool in my mouth while searching for my paper piercing pad, bent over and poked my leg.....isn't that lovely! Guess I know how my paper must feel now! lol.
4. How long does it take you to create a project that you're happy with? It really depends. Usually it takes an hour-hour and half. On a very rare occasion everything works right and I can do one in 45 minutes.
The next card is probably one of my very favorites of Lindsey's. Wait...I said that earlier. Ok, they're all my favorites. How can you pick? This gorgeous one uses Notes of Prayer, and I love love love the eyelets, ribbon, and lace background. Oh, and the brads. Love those too.

Want more of the Q&A? Here's the rest!
5. I am usually a little messy in my creating. Tell me about your creative space. My creative space looks like a bomb exploded in it! I LOOOOVE making cards, I am just not the best at putting things away when I am done. There's been a few times I've forced myself on my floor! lol.
6. If you were stranded on a deserted island, what craft tool would you take with you? Why? My Paper Piercing Tool and white gel pen! :) It is SO hard to refrain from faux sewing on every card. This is what goes through my head..."Hmm...this needs something" Then I reach for that darn piercer!
7. What is your biggest source of inspiration? Everything really. Life, Nature.... Lately all the cute Patterned Paper is where I draw it from. There is SO much of it out there right now, I love it!

8. Who in the stamping world do you want to be when you grow up and why? There's really too many to name, but right this second I am going to say Anna Wight... aka SweetMissDaisy. Not only can she color like nobody's business, but she can draw...her stamp sets are SO cute and she is an amazing photographer!
And finally, this card with the Beautiful You set. There are so many unexpected and awesome little details...I love it!!

That wraps up our Guest Designer Spotlight for August. Don't forget to leave our guests some love and check out the latest happenings on the Splitcoast Forum! Have a great weekend!
