Wild Flower Garden

Whoa, I don't know about you guys, but I thought this color challenge was hard!!!! I don't know why, because I love all the colors Shannan picked for us. But putting them all together, yowza! Challenging! I guess that's why they call it a "challenge", uh?

I hadn't made a square card for such a long time that I decided for this challenge I was going square (not hard to do for me:)). I used my box of DCWV (Die Cuts With a View) embossed square cards as my base. I chose the brocade embossed pattern and rubbed Old Olive ink all over it to make the brocade pop.

The main image was made by using the stamps in the new Floral Whimsy set just launched by Verve. I used the individual stamps in the set to create my own little field of wild flowers, which I then colored with my Copics. I stamped a few extra flowers, colored them, and cut them out to place on top of the Martha Stewart self-sticking ribbon I've had sitting around my studio for forever. I'm really trying to use up what I've already got in my drawers instead of going out and buying more, more, more! I'm sure many of you are trying to do the same thing. The green buttons at the bottom of the card are actually fabric brads that perfectly matched the green/white ribbon. Gotta love that!

We've got another week for you full of fabulous color challenge projects, so be sure and check back each day for great ideas on how you can use the newest Verve stamp sets! The Verve divas have rocked it out yet again, so you don't want to miss a single day this week, ok? Don't forget that you can submit your own card for the color challenge, you have until midnight on the 31st to get your uploaded! The winner will recieve $15 in Verve Bucks!
